I've recently been experianceing a lot of strain in my right wrist which I am assuming is from using the mouse. what does /g/ use to get around issues like this.
>>
I work on a computer 40 hours a week, if not more and never have wrist issues. A brace might possibly help, or changing your grip occasionally. How are you resting your wrist?

My wrist used to hurt all the time until I got this thing. I think I could have bought another one since the one I had was too small, but whatever.

i have carpal tunnel but who cares about that when you never extend your palm

My chair has an arm rest, so I place a few DVD cases on my lap and keep my elbow and hand at an even height. Keep your elbow well rested and even to that of your hand. It helps me loads.

op here I rest my wrist on the mousepad behind my mouse (rat7). It's only started happening after using a computer at school for this semester

fuck off to reddit, nigger.

Something to support my elbow on the same level as my hand plus a vertical mouse is what worked for me.

Try lowering the sensitivity down so you have to make more whole-arm movements with the mouse.

I did this so I could play CS:GO better and found that it improved my arm/wrist posture. Improved the mobility of my shoulder as well.

1600 dpi was my default, I now use ~500 dpi.

trackpads are pretty low strain on my wrist because clicking doesn't take any effort. Laptops are not good for desk use though, only lap/couch use
>>
>>53888773
i'll give that a try since I usally use 1600 but have 800 and 400 as options on my mouse for when I play fps. for the last hour or two i've been using my phone as a trackpad and its been working pretty well. does anyone have any recommendations for a good trackpad that isn't as expensive as the apple one.

I'm a newfag so I'm gonna call out on other newfags so I don't look like a newfag.

are logitech trackpads good?

Are you willing to trade your wrist pain for thumb pain?

These exercises are really good:
http://www.physioadvisor.com.au/8122850/wrist-strengthening-exercises-wrist-rehabilitati.htm

And these compression sleeves help a tonne: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0057D7ZAS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0057D7ZAS&linkCode=as2&tag=antranikorg-20

But i wouldn't wear them at the computer, as the position can make stuff worse with that sleeve.

Also worth looking at here: http://antranik.org/wrist-sprains/

But yeah, a trip to a Doctor (not a physio) would probably be for the best before starting exercises though.

only time I've gotten wrist pain, it was in my left wrist from typing as fast as I could for too long in a row (literally marathoning typing tests, I do not recommend, your score lowers over time and it gets pretty painful)

whoa there buddy what the hell does this have to do with anything else you said?
>>
Your table / desk is too high. Raise your chair if you must, but lowering the mouse surface is preferable

the stretching is good, the ball squeeze is FUCKING RETARDED for RSI. If OP has strain from over using his hand this will only make it worse.

Shit, i forgot that ball one was there, i use the other 3 with a resistance tube.
>>
>>53889624
maybe he left out some part where he uses the dvd cases for support or puts his mouse on it or something
>>
not OP but i've got a Logitech M500 which is a similar profile to a lot of their gaymer mice. i like how it feels but i'd like it more if it had a fatter ass.

maybe i just hold the mouse a bit short, but that's natural to me.

rec's if possible, thanks.

I have the same problem but with my left wrist. Use http://eithermouse.com/ and learn to mouse with both hands. That or get a trackball.
