Is this a meme cooler? Is it even good?
>>
Watercooling is a meme. A good air cooler is quieter and just as good. An NH-D15 or Cryorig R1 gets just as good temps without having that pump noise at idle, and with the large dual 140mm fans they're quiet at load to. Unless you have a really fucked up case like the NCase M1, any case that will fit a 240mm aio will fit a large dual tower air cooler. Air is cheaper, quieter, and better, and I haven't even gotten into the risk of leaks or dumbasses fucking up by connecting their pump to a fan header not set to 100%.

>Do you have Haswell-E?
Get it
>Do you have Skylake/Haswell normal?
Get a D15
>Are you limited on space?
Get it

Pretty much it.
>>
Peak temps are close to air, but water brings it down faster.

as someone with an H110i GTX and an i7-5820k at 4.4Ghz

I agree
>>
>>53881450
Same here but with an H100i. 5820k is at 4.5 for me tho.
>>
>>53881293
anon you're an idiot

it would take hours even days in s confined space for both water and air cooled systems to reach same temps
>>
>>53881115
It's good but the price performance is better on air cooling. Get it if you want something that looks cool.
>>
>>53881356
Water cooled pcs get the same amount of dust.
>>
>>53881293
Semi true. But since the water heats up it ends up being the exact same, if not worst with water Cooling
>>
>>53881450
>>53881498
>4.4Ghz
>4.5
getting a 5820k today and I have a h115i ready to go, shits going to compute like no tomorrow compared to my duo core amd.
>>
>>53881115
it relocated the radiator to a less used part of the case, in a much more convenient form factor. an air cooler risks taking up too much room when inside smaller cases, they get very tall.
>>
>>53881237
>pump noise at idle
>vs vrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR at load
>>
>>53881498
I got mine 48 hour Prime95 stable up to 4.6Ghz before the voltage got too much for my taste.

Backed it back to 4.4Ghz for my 24/7 OC.
>>
>>53882529
Same here lmao. Are you me?
>>
>>53882703
It's probably the best performance for $ you can get right now, we just made the right choices anon.
>>
>>53882793
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>>
>>53881115
I prefer working on these coolers rather than the big bulky air coolers like the Noctua NH-D15 or the fucking god awful Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

You will be very happy. I'm at 4.4 24/7 and got up to 4.6 but did not like the voltage I was running at. The OC potential is supposedly way higher but I don't like running more than 1.32v through my VCore. I'm almost certain that if I could keep the caps from blowing, I could get it to 4.8 @ 1.35-1.36v but not in a stable manner. And I have an older H100 (no pump whine either) Pic related, when I bumped it to 4.3. You will notice the VCore is low, just a snapshot before the info refreshed, that was at 1.28v.
>>
>>53882877
>god awful 212 evo
What? Its or was constantly rated as one of the best coolers. Until water coolers can compete witg air coolers on a price and idle opetation sound level then theyre really a niche or gimmick
>>
>>53882981
installing the 212 series is hell
>>
>>53882981
I guess you've never had to take off your CPU cooler and reapply your thermal paste, which you should do every 3-5 years. I've had to replace thermal paste for my friends a few times, because their CPU was getting really hot and that was the first thing to check on my list. And having to deal with this CPU cooler was a pain in the ass. You can't remove the CPU cooler without taking out the motherboard from the case, it was just annoying as fuck to work on compared to my H100 or any other similar CPU cooler.

>>53883001
I agree that installing the 212 series is hell!!
>>
>>53881115
i used the h100 (orig) for 2 years before the pump mysteriously stopped working, ended up taking the noctua nhd15 out of another computer while waiting for the replacement h100i replacement which took way too long for me to get through rma/shipping so i had a good while to test all three and my conclusion was that the noctua kept it a tad cooler with the added benefit of not having to worry about the stupid pump going out. im never buying an all in one water cooler again, and chances of me sperging out on some DIY kit is literally 0
>>
>>53883001
>>53883054
Ah right, i guess i never had this problem because thevcase i use has a cut out on the back.
>>

>5 fans in chassis
meme
>>
>>53881356
Having ran watercooling for a while, I can confirm this is bullshit. I guess theres less dust in my system, but thats probably only do to with the fact that I have had to open it frequently, check the system for leaks, and verify the integrity of the loops etc.

Dust accumulated per month of operation is more or less identical. The only remedy is to get proper dustfilters at all the inlets. And those are dirt cheap, so you should have them already imo.
>>
>>53882284
The radiator is there to remedy that, sir. Air blows through it, and the water comes down to very close to room temperature. It never "gradually increases over time" like you are implying.

If your radiator has access to fresh air, it'll keep the water that that same intake temperature more or less. Thats just how it works.
>>
>>53885716
I don't give a damn about memes. I like the configuration as it promotes airflow into and out of the chassis. And you missed the 2 I have I. Front of the rad (push/pull config).

What's the point of water if i still have to endure fan noise on radiator

If your case doesn't have filters on it then it's a shit case.

I have a 4770K at 4.4ghz/1.25v under an OG H100i

Idle temps in the 20s, load temps in the 60s/70s
>>
>>53886730
How'd you get that 970 so high? I can go up until 1552mhz and then it starts artifacting like a motherfucker
>>
OP
i have a thermaltake water 3.0
it makes 0 noise besides the fans, which are corsair high static pressure fans

Got a good chip

I'm running +20mv and 110% power draw. Should also say memory is at 8000mhz as well It rarely cracks 70C
>>
>>53887530
Mem shows as 4001mhz on Afterburner, power settings are the same. Guess I'm an unlucky
>>
>>53887599
Then you have the same memory speed as me. 4000mhz DDR means 8000mhz effective. And 1550mhz is still pretty damn good on the core

What is a radiator
>>
>>53887719
And how do you plan on moving air through said radiator?
