3D Bioprinting will take off within the next 10 years

Are we absolutely fucked? People will be able to print deadly diseases at home.
>>
>>53879697
More likely that people will be printing dicks out of real skin tissue.
>>
>>53879697
That's not how pathogens work.
>>
>>53879708
>tfw your computer gets hacked and the printer prints dicks
>>
Isn't it already possible to "print" dna of a virus and implant in some bacteria to make it produce it?
>>
>>53879724
>tfw the printer runs out of black ink so quickly
>>
first we have to understand our bodies (and other living shit)
those printers will just mimic (print a left arm for someone using his right arm as 'template')
then we will print any body part just having some DNA (maybe a whole body and other living beings)
we will mess around with DNA and make great shit
the first programming language for DNA will be created

500 years? maybe?
>>
>>53879697

it will likely be tightly controlled as most medical tech is today

So it's same as Jurassic Park or The Fifth Element stuff?
>>
>>53879697
That is retarded. I bet i can print your Iq using two characters.

>>53879697
>need kidney
>"I'll just print out a kidney and transplant it myself"

Kek. Saw a bioprinter at a conference recently, it's the shit, but it's still pretty shit
>>
How come science fiction didn't prepare us for this stuff?

We are on the verve of having better medical technology than 24th century star trek.

Have you ever used a 3D printer?

Kek no. We can barely grow organs, star trek had the motherfucking genesis device.

Heck the whole reason for bioprinting is that we don't have a good way to coax cells into growing vasculature. If we find a way to just coax cells to grow into organs bioprinting would pretty much be obsolete.

>>53882409
You sorta can today, but not with a bioprinter. There's this thing called a DNA synthesizer, you can download a DNA sequence and make it IRL. You can download smallpox DNA and synth it up.

It's really expensive and difficult, but you can do it
>>
>>53882686
they still had to use mechanical replacement organs when Picard was young
>>
Lol I saw a news update today about how close scientists are to regenerating tissue using stem cells.

>tfw I can break their backs and never have to worry unless they can afford it
>>
When can I print a massive 28" horsecock and have it replace my normal ween?

why the fuck would you print organs when you can just harvest clones? you fags are taking such a roundabout approach.

moralfags make it legally difficult to produce clones
>>
>>53879697
hopefully ww3 will have wiped 90% of humans by then
>>
if the possibility exists for making any potentially lethal diseases, it won't be released to the public. that shit will be in BSL4 labs ONLY.
>>
>>53888906

also >>53883666
check em
>>
1) download Ebola.fasta
2) get whole genome sequenced
3) find best alignment between self and Ebola
4) CRISPR all diffs
5) wipe out humans
>>
>>53885397
What's the advantage of harvesting clones?
>>
>>53879769
lmao
the future is bleak...
>>
>>53879741
yes

don't tell anyone this, it's against national security
>>
>>53885397
cause you would have to pay for the whole body of your clone (upbringing, development etc) just for a liver
cause moral fags
>>
>>53879697
lol
>>
>>53889791
could you not just clone them so they are braindead on birth, where you just feed them nutrient soup until something is needed?

which will cost you till the day you actually need something. Also you'd want to make sure, that the organs are in top condition which will need even further investment.

>>53889847
Most moral and etics-guys i've talken to were the biggest hypocrites ever. They don't wan't "morally problematic" research but are totally fine with holding back future live-saving methods in regenerative medicin and alike. How about we talk about the people which died because some retards delayed scientific advance?
>>
>>53890385
Let's be real here. You've never talked about the ethics or morals of scientific research with anyone. Shitposting on 4chan doesn't count.
>>
>>53883666
satan knows breast!
>>
>>53882745
They have pills to regrow kidneys in star trek. I'm not sure why they couldn't do the same with a heart.
>>
>>53890413
You sure know it anon.
>>
>>53879697
m8 i print about 20 deadly diseases every time i take a shit
