Tab is so much better.
But I also use space for text alignment after tabs.

If your editor doesn't unfuck indentation for you, you're wasting your time.

Tabs obviously, so everyone can choose whatever indent they like. I prefer 2-space-width tabs.
If you need to align columns, you can do that using spaces, after the indentation.
