What kind of projects are you guys working on?
None, ARM is a piece of shit.
that feel when you bought a brand new 1GHz Gateway PC in 1999 and now you have a 2.66GHz 4 core with 8 threads. And another 4 core as a server in the other room.
also, no more 56k. I get 5MB download speed now...
teenage me would bust a nut.

>Pi sells a 1Ghz computer for $5
Except that's wrong.
The Raspberry Pi Zero has the same 700mhz ARMv6 CPU that was in the original raspberry pi.
For comparison, a 233mhz Pentium MMX is faster (both int and fp) than that shitty 700mhz ARMv6
I had mine run a mumble server and I used vnc to stream media but it the media streaming experience was shitty. I'm running openelec now and I'm planning on using freenas and build a home server (mostly to backup stuff) but to also use to start hoarding media that I can stream to my pi.

I was using a banana pi to make a tablet but I stopped caring. Honestly pi's are fucking useless for most things, as much as I love them. I might try to use my bpi to make a robot of some kind if I can be arsed to get the gpio working.
>Ghz can be directly compared

if you want usefulness, go buy a $20 android phone and use it as a wifi computer without activating it
I got rasp pi 3 from microcenter for $35 (lol its $42 on amazon)
and was surprised to see it ran minecraft at 40+ fps.
Can we bring the Chumbie back from the dead?

They get away with it by having that burger slid the fuck apart. That thing actually looks like the leaning tower of preservatives from any angle besides the one the photographer took it at.

This is what a properly advertised Big Mac should look like, not that disgusting, anaemic looking shit in >>53871999

is the pi zero cpu even as fast as the 1GHz AMD K7?

It has the same cpu but its clocked at 1000 MHz.
so the statement "Pi sells a 1Ghz computer for $5" is not wrong at all.

Bedside LCD display using a Pi 3, an LCD controller, and a salvaged 1280x720 IPS LCD panel. I really want to make it wireless using lipo cells but I'm unsure of the amperage required for both, as well as the capacity of cells I would need to power a display and the pi. Just want to get comfy in bed and feel good about making something. Something like pic.

My T22's 800mHz processor is feeling a bit old now. Thanks.
well after seeing that a pentium 4 stomps this ima go dust off the 6 i got sitting in the attic. i got a pi, i guess its only good for compact things

>i guess its only good for compact things
Pretty much. The Pi is meant to be embedded. Between low power consumption and the GPIO pins it's great for small projects.

You could always just get more amperage than you would think it needs. It I'll only pull what it needs in amps. Do you mean Voltage?

Im not all too certain. I havent read many threads about people powering the pie and an lcd display with lithium cells.
The pi's requirements are 2.5A @ 5v
As for the LCD display I'm unsure. It was salvaged out of an old HP laptop that had a 4800mah battery.
