>If the openSUSE board kicked you out and created a rule that forbade you from ever running openSUSE again... what system would you use?
>Wow, that's a good question. I'm not sure I'd make my own, there are enough distributions out there. Forking openSUSE would be tempting just so I could keep on using it, but that would be selfish. I think Arch, but I'd implement my own openQA instance between their testing repos and stable and run a custom tested derivative..something in between because I think I'd find their stable repository too slow after running on Tumbleweed for so long”
>You do realize that, by law, every Arch user must now post that "openSUSE Chairman would consider using Arch" to reddit no less than three times.
>At least it would give them something else to talk about than "Hey did you know, I use Arch Linux?" ;)

Only a true autistic mouthbreather such as yourself would actually take the time to type all of this out.
End your life.

Read the fucking interview yourself fucker!!!
Arch users are smug because it's a better system. Of course it is, it isn't some noob distro with a GUI for easy operation, we've invested some time in our systems and it shows. OpenSUSE, Ubuntu and Fedora are for people who aren't very smart. To them I'd just suggest OS X.

>Arch users still insist they know better
OK
>>53867122
All the 'respected' people are just mediocre devs running their shitty forks which are dumbed down to simple people.
>WHERE DA MOUSE CURSOR SENPAI? WHAT IT DO
>CLI? COMMAND LINE WHAT? NAW MAN I DON'T PLAY DAT GAME I'M KEEPING IT REAL
Yeah, real dumb.
if you like tumbleweed, why wouldn't you just use Debian Sid?
Next logical step imo

Arcgfags BTFO by Distrowatch:
>I have never regarded Arch Linux as a particularly practical approach to getting things done. The distribution has a long set up time, newcomers will require access to an on-line wiki while setting up the operating system and the rolling nature of Arch is incompatible with most use cases. So, for me, Arch does not hold a lot of appeal today.
>Arch Linux presents an investment in time, reading and maintenance that I do not find practical for my day-to-day needs.

Arch = Paint by numbers: The distro
>>53867264
In the case of SUSE maybe not a fork but mediocre it is.
>>53867285
He hasn't done anything significant for the past 10 years. Giving the finger to nvidia sure made them invest in their linux drivers.
Not that I'm an nvidiot.
>>53867320
A long set up time? It literally takes next to no time installing base and a WM, even a DE.
Arch doesn't need daily maintenance, that's just a meme. It's literally dumb ubuntu users regurgitating the same old shit even though it isn't true. Just noob distro damage control.

No, you can still customise as you wish on any distro

Aside from the initial setup (most of the time I spent was trying to duel boot Arch and Windows, If I wasn't using Windows it would have taken much less time) I haven't put very much thought or time into maintaining at all. yeah if you want to rice awesome or i3 it takes time but installing a complete DE and other software is easy.
>>53867535
You don't need to double space every line you fucking plebbitor
>>53868203
I had trouble with the boot partition while trying to dualboot. How did you do it?
>>53868589
Use GRUB, it's much easier than systemdboot in my experience.
Install Windows like normal (I used a retail copy on USB, OEM versions may be harder to duel-boot), install Arch and set the boot partition to the UEFI boot and mount everything normally. Install and configure GRUB using the wiki. Run # grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg like normal. If it can't find Windows Boot Manager, reboot and try again. I'm not sure why but I had to reboot for GRUB to properly find the proper hooks for Windows.

You're post doesn't make any sense, but I'll give you a bump for Arch Linux.

I'm not even for or against Arch (though I wish people would talk about it less), but what the hell? Isn't Arch known for being bleeding edge almost to a fault?
