Is Manjaro any good in terms of functionality?
I know almost nothing of this OS and never used it,
may be someone has an opinion of it?

Nah, stability rather depends on your decisions. I never had Arch broken actually, neither manjaro.
That version in OP seems perfect for a netbook.
