Why Firefox is Shit

>Still using a browser that does not respect your privacy
>Neckbeards and weeaboos still defend this browser
>The ones who are not ignorant suggest forks of Firefox that are unreliable or are ran by furries

Stock Firefox literally includes the following bloatware:

>DRM binary blobs
>Pocket
>Health check
>SJW nest

So why the hell are you using this browser Anons? Its fucking shit. Uninstall this shit storm and go to a browser that respects privacy, like open source Chromium or Google Chrome.

Good luck to the Anons who still suggest Palemoon to ignorant Anons who know nothing about browsers.

>Broken HTML
>No PDF on JS
>Absolutely shitty addons

All your other browsers are shit besides Google Chrome / Chromium:

- Explorer/Edge are a meme.
- Firefox is going the SJW route and I'm constantly getting popups telling me to upgrade from this release to another release, even if I opt in NO!
- Safari is a double meme.
- Yandex is a russian botnet.
- Opera is going to be a chinese botnet.

All suggestions on ways to make Firefox "just work" are not accepted in this thread. Software should work out of the box, not something I have to play with to get working. (Reminds you of something, maybe Arch Linux?)

Touché Anons. Touché. I'll never use this piece of shit and never touch it after they ruined node.js developers too.

Kind words. Unfortunately, it has been statistically proven that neets like you who use Firefox use harsher words online than Google Chrome/Chromium users. /g/ desktop threads are an example of this.

It also has been statistically proven that Firefox users are pedophiles. The data is already shown to you if you have used the Tor browser. Hence why the FBI had exploited the browser to catch peodphiles using .Onion domains to get child porn.

Name an issue that Google Chrome or Chromium's source as big as health check and telemetry ping that happen to be within the source code. If you use Chrome by default, you can already opt out of the personal information that Google requests (the sign-in).

As for any browser, as included in the 'Privacy' page for Google Chrome, you're still going to give information to a server. (i.e. Google) But you can opt to use alternative browsers.

Chromium > Firefox

The argument would be different if Firefox did not change their SJW ways. Last good version of Firefox was 3.0 and ever since then, its gone to shit.

Fucking kek. Do you not know the different between Chromium and Google Chrome you shit head? You're making assumptions that i'm retarded, yet you're the one who clearly (even with someone else's post) differentiate what Chrome and Chromium are.

First of all, I have suggested either using Google Chrome or Chromium.

1.) Look at the image. Chromium has not been using the RLZ Identifier since mid 2010. Google Chrome builds also allow the user to opt out of it as well.

2.) Firefox defaults Yahoo! as the default search engine. Whoever created the image is an autistic monkey. What's the argument to be made here?

3.) Client.id is also embedded into Firefox, which is also sent to Mozilla.

4.) If you were to sign into Firefox Sync, you would also encounter a similar thing. Chrome does this if you opt into sign in your Google account.

5.) not relevant for Chrome (or Chromium) being a "botnet"

6.) Firefox does this shit too.

7.) Can be disabled in Preferences and that is easily accessible to anyone.

8.) So does Firefox. Instead of being sent to Google, they're sent to Mozilla.

Chrome: No. If you're gonna say Firefox is a botnet, Chrome is way moreso.

Chromium: Broken by design. Flash? I have one computer where PPAPI Flash just works, and another where it's always "can't load plugin" no matter how many reinstalls and resets of both Chromium and Flash I do. I'm stuck on NPAPI Flash on that machine, and therefore stuck on an old Chromium. NPAPI is gone so good luck if you want to do anything else that needs an NPAPI plugin, like Unity. It also sucks at audio and video. MP3? Nope. AAC? Nope. H.264? Not happening. Supposedly there's a version of ffmpegsumo I can get, but it seems it has to be from the exact same version of Chrome. Everything I've tried has resulted in "Aw snap!" and that particular Chrome seems to be lost to the sands of time since Google doesn't have it on a proper version control system. And yes, I know there are newer builds that have these codecs built in, but I can't use them because PPAPI Flash won't fucking work.

Firefox: All of the above works. It's a bit pokey but I'll take slight slows over total botnet or doesn't fucking work.

Firefox can allow me to install an addon that periodically makes incremental tab backups
Firefox doesn't have the stupid duplicate file saving issue that all Chromium browsers are plagued with.
Firefox has much better multiprocess support, substantially reduced memory usage with said multiprocess compared with chrome. Firefox even allows you to set the number of processes you wish to use.
Rust and Servo are coming, which will make Firefox a lot faster and more secure.
Firefox can be easily made portable.
I could keep going...

The truth is, yes Firefox has some issues, but there is still no viable web browser aside from Firefox. Vivaldi may be a candidate one day.

I agree the pocket and everything is just unnecessary bloat, I don't want it but I can hide it from the UI. I don't care if the devs are SJW cucks. It doesn't really reflect on the user experience, at least not mine. Firefox for me has been what it has been for a long time, a stable browser with ad block function. That's pretty much it. It might send some light tracking data, I don't really care.

I tried chrome because it's a meme on /g/ but it immediately asked me to log in, dropped that shit immediately. You keep your botnet browser that doesn't respect you in any regard, I'll keep mine with minor, subjective fractions to my privacy.

Besides, whenever I want to do something nefarious I just use tor browser and/or tails.
>>

>Firefox can allow me to install an addon that periodically makes incremental tab backups
Chrome stores all tabs automatically, just cmd+shift+T to restore tabs from previous or even crashed sessions.

Chrome works much better and faster on my machine, so I'd demand proofs for that.

What the fuck is the point of having a locked-down app display YouTube when the browser could do it to no ill effect?

We have the worst of both worlds with that. The shit webdev tier code combined with attempts to make the web-browser do everything instead of just browse the fucking web.

>Chrome stores all tabs automatically, just cmd+shift+T to restore tabs from previous or even crashed sessions.
I've had enough data loss in my time to know not to rely on a web browser's built-in tab restore functions. Chrome doesn't have incremental backup solutions, Firefox does, end of story.
>Chrome works much better and faster on my machine, so I'd demand proofs for that.
Probably because you used Firefox with multiprocess turned off. Firefox is plenty fast with it enabled. Oh, also Chrome can't handle lots of tabs. Firefox can. Another nail in the coffin for Chrome.
>Which would be an argument once its actually in the browser
Do Chrome users have any revolutionary or groundbreaking evolutions to look forward to? Didn't think so.
>Then do, cause you have yet to name anything actually useful
Oh, I see you conveniently left out my mention of Chrome's buggy duplicate file saving. Something they haven't managed to fix in 8 years.

I suppose the ideal solution would be to make the web browser a collection of programs rather than a single one.

I don't understand why we need the browser to do everything any way. I mean, no one expects a file manager to play video or music, so why expect a browser to?

I don't want to go back to the bad old days of browsing a file and then having to download it blind, then run it in RealPlayer, but a medium could be found I'm sure.

I had to quit using my chromium-based browser because of the insane memory usage on imgur. The longer you browse imgur it just gets worse and worse until finally the tab crashes. Haven't had that problem on firefox, at least not yet.

But you can not do the massive amount of UI customization in Chromium, but in Vivaldi you can.

As Vivaldi is a highly advanced App only available bundled with Chromium on the Vivaldi website. As long as there is no complex equivalent which enables that kind of customization also under Chromium, Vivaldi is the way to go.

Mozilla is making out of Firefox a wanna be like Chrome UI clone. There is no need to use a cheap knock-off. None at all.

>Brave
>a browser designed with the goal of either serving you ads or making you pay money

fuck that shit, I'm the user, the user agent should be on my side. Which means I should be able to tell my user agent to give a big fat "fuck off" to any ad server it sees. Brave, since their revenue model depends on bringing in ads (of a certain type that they consider """acceptable"""), has an incentive to fuck me, the user, over. They make money when the browser intrudes on me. No fucking thank you.
