I think the biggest threat facing a lot of the boards now is that the threads are becoming more shallow and only loosely related to the board topic.
Like a lot of the threads I see on any of these givens boards are just these almost cookie-cutter memeified threads that I see on all of the other given boards, tweaked slightly so it loosely applies to the board at hand.
And then some of the threads that have more serious/quality discussion get pruned because, on the surface only, they're not quite on topic.
So yeah I think the admin/mods need to find a better way to encourage quality, more relevant discussion, and think a little more deeper so they don't delete the few threads right now that are.

Its become pretty shit, especially over the past one or two years. 90% of threads are now shit posting or recommendation threads (despite there being plenty of guides on what to watch out there). Newfag shitters have also been applying the "/v/ hates everything" mentality to /m/ even though the board has never been like that.
