what is this gpu port. I've never seen it before and it doesn't fit in any of my computers.

Not trying to claim oldfag or anything but I started coming here in '05 but surprisingly have only been here for the last year.
Yeah /g/ is pretty bad. Having a good knowledge of modern standards is really only necessary. I wouldn't criticize anybody for not knowing the AGP card but at the same time it's a dead give away that you're not really into computers or you're extremely young. I'm definitely young but I still know all about almost all of the old standards that aren't around anymore.

I remember when my buddy's computer was too old to have AGP. I went to CompUSA and picked up a PCI video card for him. Sucked but was better than integrated.

I had a PC that was new enough to have PCI-e but the manufacturers cheaped out and left it out. There was even a spot on the mobo reserved for PCI-e stuff, it was labeled and had all the hardware except for a physical slot. Bought a PCI GeForce GT 610 and it was definitely a step up from integrated. I could play Far Cry maxed out at 1024x768, and Half Life 2 on High-Medium.
