So where do I actually buy one without waiting weeks for shipping?
>>
I'll be honest, I wish there was a single Android phone below 5" that was usable.

It's not difficult making powerful hardware in big sizes.
>>
>>53841526
Yet it is, probably related to the power drain from the average Android hardware, so it requires a bigger battery, which in turn makes the body as fat as the Xperias.
>>
>>53841447

>$350

This thing is going to ship so many units.
>>
Can I ask, is "live photo" not just... A video?
>>
>>53841544
It's $399 for the 16 GB version and that's the American meme price that doesn't take sales tax into account.
>>
>>53841555

No. It's they grey area between a photo and a video and it's very well done.

It's a high resolution still picture that becomes a short video when long pressed. Very well done, incredibly intuitive. Apple are innovating the future.

Can you guys explain some more? I got myself a z3c about a year ago and something ago because i didn't want to buy an older phone like the 5s, which i really liked because of it's design. I have even dropped it twice but nothing happened to it. However i hate how sometimes my swipes don't register properly, even after installing the nova launcher and putting it in the energy saving mode, although that helped the issue a lot.

>>53841447
This is so fucking sexy but i already have trouble reading some smaller text on websites on my z3c. I am kinda worried it will be pretty hard to read anything on a such small screen.

It's a known problem of the Z3c (and possibly other Zcs or Zs) where the glass cracks by itself. Problem is Sony won't repair it under warranty and deny that they have a clear quality control issue.

Now I don't know how prevalent this problem actually is as happy customers are less likely to write reviews and forum posts, but it's literally half the reviews on German Amazon. Even if there's "only" a 10% of your screen cracking in the first two years, I'd kick myself it I lost €300 to a known problem like that.

Beside that I also don't like slippery, unhandy square glass design at all. Now the S5 Mini, that's an example of a 4.5" phone designed well, unfortunately it's plagued with problems as well.

Well, here in Europe it's 589€ (who the fuck buys 16GB)

Muh performance shills are out of control today. No thanks, my Android works just fine. If you upgrade your phone for the following reasons:
Battery life
Loading times
Aesthetics

You are the cancer holding back technology and you need to off yourself immediately.

>battery life
Longer battery life is just a meme. If you truly use your phone for more than 6 hours a day it shows no self control and reflects on a shitty life. Look at the Apple fan girls who do that, 90% of them wouldn't be so vapid if they showed self restraint. Go outside and get some vitamin D, psychologists do not recommend spending more than 1 to 3 hours on electronics each for a healthy and happy life.
>Loading times
I see no issue with my current loading times. It doesn't total no more than 10 seconds so in my opinion it's a perfected technology and any company who uses it as a marketing sell point must not have much else to sell.
>Aesthetics
Functionality>design
The iPhone is no different as compared to literally millions of other's iPhone it's a drop in the pond in the lake of phones. If Apple is insisting on upgrading aesthetics, does that make the previous models of iphones look shit in comparison? According to Apple, it does.
>>
>>53841701
I have a Z3 and the screen cracked without doing anything to it. It is a known issue for certain producon lines (?) I think.

Anyway, I just sent it to the tech support, saying it cracked itself. They took a look at it and a couple days later they said that my screen did actually crack on its own so they fixed it for free.

How is me wanting to be able to use something I own a meme?
>If you truly use your phone for more than 6 hours a day it shows no self control and reflects on a shitty life.
Yes, wanting to talk to friends who are in other countries really shows how shit my life is.
>Look at the Apple fan girls who do that, 90% of them wouldn't be so vapid if they showed self restraint.
I'm not a girl and I don't use apple products, so this doesn't apply.
>psychologists do not recommend spending more than 1 to 3 hours on electronics each for a healthy and happy life.
I don't care, I'm happy.
>I see no issue with my current loading times.
How is the fact that you're happy with a certain metric a justification for that metric being irrelevant? That's like me saying cars don't need to be faster because I have a Ferrari.
>Functionality>design
Sure, but being nice doesn't necessarily hinder functionality. I wouldn't upgrade a phone based on aesthetics, but all else being equal it's an advantage.
>The iPhone is no different as compared to literally millions of other's iPhone it's a drop in the pond in the lake of phones.

The data deletes itself after 10 failed attempts. If my little brother enters my password in my phone 10 times he will fuck my phone up. It's not secure if it requires the deletion of data it's trying to secure in the first place.
>needed months
Those months were spent gathering field data and pestering Apple for them to unlock the phone to which they had access to but refused.

There was nothing stopping Apple from accessing their archive of information which they apparently had no issue in the past doing but yet Apple didn't do anything. Whether that was suppressing a Muslim shooter or simply tricking people into a false sense of security is another question for another day.
>encryption with 50% performance
Back at it again with the performance meme, it literally doesn't matter when it takes less than 5 seconds to load apps. Like I said it's a perfected technology and anyone who tries to shill with performance as a talking point is just trying to move a product.

Because any size beyond 4'3" is not usable in one hand without moving the phone for people with normal hands. If you hold it in an angle where you can reach the left top corner, you have to do some nasty finger acrobatics to reach the lower left corner without moving the phone, which is alright when you got used to it but not comparable to holding the phone normally all the time.

There was a faggot who tried to prove his point but failed and demonstrated it pretty well in another thread about SE.

No, it was a comparison between the SE and the Nexus 5, you can't just pick and choose the best parts of different Android phones and compare them to a single other phone.

It's a moot point anyway as both the Nexus 5 and S3 have been discontinued ages ago. But at least the N5 can be updated past 4.4 and isn't a security risk unlike your S3.

Hyperbolic bullshit aside, iOS is perfectly fine - and so is android. I have both an ipad 3 and a note 2. It's really not that massive of a difference, user-experience-wise.

Applies just as well to iOS. I expect my phone to support MTP and share files via wi-fi, to be able to download, use, install any kind of file without restrictions. At LEAST. Further, I expect OTG support, NTFS flash drives support, UI customizability and some space to tinker of course. The ability to push hardware past manufacturer's levels and extend software support way past its life time is grand and often will sway me from buying a technically superior phone, if its scene is not mature enough. This is why I will wait at least one year before purchasing a SD820 phone, it's simply too new now. Besides, I'm still waiting for Motorola to make its move.

It's not about the ability. Past certain size you simply change your grip and it no longer matters whether it's 5 or 6 inches, they both are ultimately unusable if not for assistance of gravity. Just try operating it with one hand if it is above you and facing screen down, like you would do when lying flat on your bed for example, or taking a photo of a plane.

The headphone jack is barely functional anymore would be the biggest one, given that I never had any issues with ANY other piece of hardware, it stands out pretty bad. Also the flop protecting the charging port is annoying as fuck and sometimes falls off.

Besides that, no updates on normal ways, the low light performance of the camera is sad and even in perfect conditions, it's disappointing given MUH 20.1 megapixels, the speed of shooting is damn slow too. Also the battery life got shittier with Lollipop, fixed again with Marshmallow preview ... that killed the LTE.

Assuming the hardware problems were non existent, I guess it'd be an alright phone for 200-250 bucks.

Kek. That's plenty enough for days of continuous playback even with 320 kbps mp3. Hell, 192 kbps is probably fine for mobile use.

>Way to rape the shitty battery life even further.
When you're playing music, you're doing a lot of receiving (which doesn't require any additional power compared to just maintaining the connection) and not a whole lot of receiving. Playing music costs a huge amount of battery compared to not playing music (CPU active vs deep sleep), but streaming music doesn't cost any additional batter vs playing local music.

>Also implying you have Internet everywhere 100%
Even if you're going camping in the middle of nowhere, 8GB is plenty to store more music than battery. There's no reason to require more than 32GB. And yes, you should always have internet wherever you are if you're remotely near civilization. It's not 2006 anymore. Do you have US Cellular or something?

>being this uneducated

Ever seen a Harry Potter movie? Think of the photos in the films, and how they magically came to life. That’s what Live Photos are. Yep, that magic is now real life.

Here’s how Live Photos work: when you take a photo using the iPhone 6S the camera will also include 1.5 seconds of video (and audio) before you pressed the shutter release button, as well 1.5 seconds after the shutter release button is pressed.

What this means is that every photo you take is actually a 3 second long movie! You still get the 12mp photo from the moment you pressed the shutter release, but you also get video of the moments before and after the photo was taken.

Take a second and let that sink in. No longer will you need to choose between taking a photo or a video. With Live Photos every photo you take will also include a bit of video.

This will change everything.
>>
>>53845943
>That's plenty enough for days of continuous playback
Which isn't the point. Having choice is. I don't expect a phone to hold my entire library, but 32GB base is just a joke for it. Consider how much of it already goes for the OS, basic apps and pictures.

>8GB is plenty to store more music than battery
What is this, 2008? It'd leave you with a very limited choice and we talk about a fucking 400€ phone, how is this acceptable? Why would you limit yourself so much if there are other options?

>you should always have internet wherever you are if you're remotely near civilization
Oh yes, the connection is fantastic during flights. Besides, here in Germany the connection regularly kicks the bucket in a fucking metro.

It's a low frame rate (13 or something I think) video taken at the same resolution as a normal photo without sacrificing any quality in the photo itself.
I think their vision must have been some sort of .gif-like format that can be more easily shared and viewed than a video. If so, they failed miserably because as far as I know they can only be viewed on iOS and OS X.
They definitely didn't come up with the idea as I remember chuckling at Samsung doing this years ago.
The only thing I kind of like about it is that as you swipe through your images they will move for just a second as they come on screen, which certainly looks neat, but is not worth the storage space it takes up.
The idea behind it isn't that bad. If you have a picture of a road you can touch it and see the cars moving, if you take a picture of a plant with a bee on it you can touch it and see it move around and maybe take off etc. And it has no downsides other than larger filesizes.
That said, in most cases, adding features isn't a bad thing and nothing to complain about, but it definitely isn't innovative and I find it weird how they treated it like a selling point for the 6S.
Also these people are either false flagging or fucking retarded.

It's part of the design behind the iPhone, you kind of can't tell where the screen and the rest of the phone meets, which strengthens the feeling of software and hardware working seamlessly or something like that.
I like the idea and that's why the white iPhone 4 color option bothered me at first and why I'm kind of annoyed that apple keeps making new color options but still only have one that has black bezels.
