This isn't fantastic at all.

Like 320x480?
>>
>>53836558
Get one that runs at a higher resolution but then just set it down to the 16:10 that works for you.
>>
>>53836192

Most Macfags use the 1280x800 scaled 2x...

So they basically see less real estate than 1366x768..
>>
>>53836555
Imagine 1920x1080 in a 12" laptop. Shit would be barely readable

>and fuck dpi scaling, it's shit.
>>
I usually run my 1920x1080 14" laptop at full resolution on its own, then when I dock it to a larger but lower DPI screen and use its builtin one as a secondary off to the side, I put it down to 1366x768. Full res further away from me is fucking illegible, and the DPI difference is more.

Only actual 1366x768 machine I have is a 12" netbook. The resolution feels fairly high DPI on such a little screen.

My post about the 16:10 was NOT a shitpost

If you really want to waste your screen, you can do it. Here's my laptop running at a 16:10 resolution. It just cuts off the sides which I guess 16:10 retards like because they're afraid of extra space

i thought scaling would be easier on GNU plus Linux, though

i use xfce and it's possible to set everything up in px

why do you consider a bad option?

1080p is legit twice the pixels of 1366x768

There are many many applications that don't scale correctly or at all. It makes applications completely unusable. The console will also have very tiny text making it difficult to use. It was definitely not worth it for me.
>>
>>53836902
A true 16:10 has a less moronically short screen. In reality, 16:9 chops the top and bottom off.

That's what you did. I only scale 150% so I have the screen space of 2560x1440.

You appear to have 200% scaling so you're basically using a better looking 1080p screen.

My problem is that a lot of programs do not play well with scaling, since 96 dpi has been standard for 20 years prior. Fucking Photoshop has 4-pixel-sized icons to manage toolbars and stuff even on 4K screens.
>>
>>53836869
remember that 4K displays are power hogs, every laptop that comes in FHD/4K flavors has like 25% worse battery life with 4K
>>
>>53840114
That's why you should switch to a loonix distro with a good DE. Any program that uses gtk 2/3 or qt I never usually have any problems with sclaing.
