Since virtualbox is fucking garbage that doesnt work. What can i use to run a simple vm on linux?

Just tried starting a simple vm on both my debian and w7 machine. The debian machine cant read boot media. Ive tried ide/sata and all the chipset and controllers and several isos. Nothing works. The windows machine crashes the vm on startup.
What a fucking piece of garbage shit software. People actually use this horseshit?

Why is Virtual box garbage?

You must be mentally retarded

Ive had 0 problems with virtualbox except the one time I had to change settings on my BIOS to enable 64bit virtualization.
>>
if you're just doing a linux vm on a linux host, try using a container. look up lxd
>>
>>53834676
Virtualbox works like a charm on any system I've used. VMware is less stable and Hyper V is worse.

OP try this one - http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.0.16/VirtualBox-5.0.16-105871-Win.exe

Literally first thing on google
Turn on virtualization in your BIOS or turn VT-x off in the virtual machine settings

Source for Hyper V being worse?
I've never had such a simple setup for virtual switches. Literally click boxes.

I'm not picking up what you're putting down. I've never had a problem with it? Anything in specific I should look out for?

I keep meaning to get around to that.

I used to run a 2008R2 Server for some time and had several VMs that ran non stop. At first it was fine but I started having issues with the VMs crashing and getting corrupted.
Switched to VMware, problem stopped.
I'm not saying Hyper-V is a bad VM solution, just one that didn't work for me.

Anyone has experience with Qemu?

I gotcha. I used virtual box for a little while, but virtual switching on it is a pain, and it would crash about 4 times every time I ran it.
It would run, it always would, but the crashing shit was equally annoying. I suppose slightly annoying to start is better than crashing while you're working.

Guys virtualbox works fine for me
