LINUX FAGS ON SUICIDE WATCH
this kills the powershell
thank fuck
>>53829355
nice slowpoke faggot
you will be late on your own funeral
>>53829355
>being slow
>thinks this makes linux less desirable
>thinks it was such a fundamental part of the linux environment that it creates sour grapes
>forgetting that underneath bash, there is still windows
>not zsh
it's shit
Number of GNU components licensed under GPLv3 shipped with Windows: at least one from now on
Number of proprietary Microsoft/Windows components shipped with Linux: round fucking zero
RMS has won, deal with it.
Freedom prevails

HOLYSHIT! LINUXFAGGOT DETECTED!
Fuck MS and fuck Canonical as well.
>>53829355
Windows is so shit even microsoft realized it.
>>53829355
>"linux" subsystem
>does not contain linux
ok
>canonical basically making their own grave
Why?
The only people on suicide watch after this are powershell users.
Bash on Windows is not going to impact the Linux userbase but it will cannibalise the population of people who are tired of writing shitty, unportable powershell scripts and instead use bash everywhere
>>53829480
>implying
I have 2 windows laptops, 1 windows desktop, and 1 mac laptop
I've used ubuntu a fair bit, but even I can see why people prefer it. I'll add a linux laptop to my collection probably next month, can't do desktop anymore since I travel too much
what's bash?
>>53829355
...why?
>>53829534
Maybe in 20 years when more systems are using 10....
>>53829526
They're whores who like money like any corp.
And since the quality of their products is subpar they're unable to get lucrative government contracts the way that redhat/suse does.
>>53829355
whats the point if you cant pirate. 100% of the software I use is illegally acquired and windows 10 is a homecalling piece of shit.
>>53829569
The number of people using win10 is irrelevant. What's relevant is the current number of people who took the time to learn powershell
>>53829548
This
>>53829355
So they're going to add some linux commands and manage to screw them up?
>>53829630
Botnet 10 is full of faults but Homecalling about piracy isn't one of them. Half of my software, every single game and all of my media is pirated, never had any issues with it.
The EULA is about their xboxlive cancer.
>>53829677
They're adding the ability to compile into and use elf instead of system32, etc.
>>53829712
whatever, I dont trust them. If I get into their ecosystem, sooner or later they are going to fuck me over.
>>53829636
To a point. It's not like they're suddenly going to have a massive conversion over to using bash scripts as opposed to batch/PS scripts. Those scripts will still be used for at least another 20 years, if not longer.
Honestly there's not too much difference between the two either, except bash uses syntax that more resembles C. I don't see how it would be an issue for anyone who can write PS scripts to learn to write bash scripts.
>>53829355
literally why?
the way I see it, it's a good addition for linux users and devs who are forced to use wangblows. For wangblows users, it can finally open their eyes and lead them to the dark side.

Pacman's not that great either (but still infinitely better than apt)
Portage is where it's at
>>53829957
What the fuck are you talking about
>>53829957
>, they need secure packages. LOL!!
Funny a butthurt debian nigger mentions this.
APT was the last package manager of the linux world to get package signing.
A critical security feature. Like 7 years after yum/yast
Kek.
>>53829534
Ha this announcement actually really pissed me off.
At work we did so much automation with small bash scripts. They worked they were fantastic.
But eventually we get sold and merged. New management come down and say all this needs to work with our existing systems so it has to be done with powershell.
We just finish converting everything and boom bash will now be compatible with windows.
>>53829712
There has been reports of win10 deleting spybot anti beacon with those tools.
Can someone explain why Canonical doing this?
I doubt they get any beneficial in return.
>>53829995
You can probably run portage on it, given that it provides a full Linux filesystem layout and executable compatibility.
>>53830431
It's pretty obvious. They get developers to use Ubuntu for development, which means more Ubuntu use in servers.
>>53829355
Literally why? Windows users aren't going to have any use for bash. They're all tech illiterate normies and gaymers.
The only reason I can think of is that Windows is trying to woo over current Linux users, but a Linux user would just rather use bash without Windows' bloat and lack of intuitiveness getting in the way.
>>53829469
Number of proprietary non Microsoft/Windows components shipped with most GNU/Linux distros: A whole fucking lot
The Linux kernel itself has proprietary code
Companies won, deal with it
Closed source prevails
>>53829355
The funny thing I s that it cant interact with anything windows related and is essentially in its own linux-like sandbox, making it a lite version of a vm so it's not going to replace powershell anytime soon
>>53830807
Binary blob drivers are just loadable modules, they're not part of the kernel.
Including them in the kernel would be a violation of the GPL. Linux kernel works and exists without them just fine.
>>53829494

>>53831292
I'm not an arch user tho
But I started to notice a trend where debian users are just as annoying little shitters as archfags.
It's funny how few memes about debian being a remotely good distro for anything but machines with obscure architectures is enough to make some gullible faggots defend it to their deaths.
Go draw some gay ass pink swirls
>>53831292
Excellent projections my friend
