So /g/, how do I go about making one of these? I've searched everywhere on Google, different forums, pretty much everywhere I can look for a design on how to make one but still nothing.

>inb4 "I don't know what it is"

It's a USB Killer. Basically it's a standard USB wired to collect as much energy as possible in the shortest amount of time when plugged into a USB port. When it's fully charged, it releases all of the energy (sometimes a negative charge up to 200v) at once, into the port which can potentially fry the port and the mobo, rendering the computer useless until repaired.

Can any computer tech help me out on this one?

Google usb killer schematics you dumbfuck.
Seriously, what do you expect us to offer you?

design it yourself from scratch, how hard can it be?

I can't understand what all of those mean, if I'm given instructions on how to do it, I'd be able to but other than just looking at a diagram, I can't.
>>53826740
Same thing. I'm not savvy in terms of figuring that shit out. Hence why I came to /g/

so you want to make a homemade electrical device but cant be assed to learn how to read a print?

its not complicated fucker, its like learning to read sheet music, figure it out
>>
If you want to send a huge charge into the port, why not just use jumper cables or something?
Better yet, just squirt some water into the port and plug in any other kind of USB device.

open up a flash drive
attach a car battery's terminals across the vcc and gnd as well as 2 data pins
plug drive into port

No.
>>
>>53826717
Basically you just engineer a USB head onto a DC/DC converter, I don't recommend doing this if you're not qualified in engineering and have decent knowledge about computer circuitry/hardware as you can literally cause a fire or even explosion with a single mistake

Capacitors + minimal wiring = exploding knees.

The fundamentals behind the design aren't massively complex.

Doing it without burning your fucking house down is up to you.
Test it on a USB hub connected to an extension outside.

Oh look it's the equivalent of a script kiddie but with electronics.

You will need to make a 5v to 200v+ voltage converter.
Easiest is using a mosfet to pulse(pwm) the 5v dc in a flyback converter with a 1:50 ratio or something. Use a rectifier on the other end and put the caps behind it. then with a voltage divider read the voltage in the caps and somehow(h-bridge example) unload them back into the usb port while protecting your own input
>>
>>53827993
You could do it cheaper with a bipolar transistor, ferrite core transformer, and a resistor. Use that to charge a capacitor or voltage multiplier + SCR/diac combo which automatically dumps the HV when a certain voltage is reached.

Electric Engineering faggot here, let me explain what you need to do in short terms.

You need a DC/DC converter which will drain power from the USB port and store it in capacitors until a certain breakdown voltage, in which it will discharge back into the PC.

You need a fine balance between voltage and current capability:

Do you want to fry it, or cook it after frying it?

High voltage capacitors are small capacity and power, lower voltage caps have more capacity and can keep delivering current for a greater ammount of time.

You also need inrush current limiting and current monitors to not exceed the USB2 standard, to not trigger on-board protection.

Good luck!
>>
Forgot to mention, a buck boost DC/DC more specificaly, a coil-cap arrangement.

Eh, the raspi is more geared toward low end software dev than electrical engineering. Perhaps try-harduinos?
