Anyway, I don't really know much about communication partners. If it's someone claiming to be able to say exactly what a retard is thinking, to the extent where they are telling the parents things they would never have gotten from the actual tard, then yeah it's a fucking criminal scam.
But retards can have more going on than you think. There are nonverbal kids that my mother works with who can engage with other people to some extent, express frustration or happiness etc.
And people around those kids can see details that I couldn't, and stop shitstorms from happening based on particular indicators.
If it's just that, and translating those things into stuff normal people can get then there's nothing wrong with it.
With the ipads, it could almost be a game to them. Say if you can tell the kid wants to watch frozen for 10,000th time, then you program the ipad to say "I want to watch frozen", and the kid takes the ipad to another adult, hits the ipad, and then he gets to watch frozen, then the kid can maybe understand that on some level, and his communication level could well grow from that.
