/g/ I need help deciding. Should I spend the $1200 on a surface pro 4 with dock, or is the surface pro 3 for $639 decent enough to not spend the extra on the newer one?

Fuck off, asking /g/'s opinion on consumer hardware has been a staple since /g/ was founded.

The specs are nice but I'm not a fan of osx. Plus I'd rather have a tablet than a laptop, I already have a good laptop.

Both of those are i5 4GB right?
Currently have my SP3 and it's still great but 4GB is showing its limitations.
Do you have the option of getting an i5 8GB SP3?
I would not get a surface at all. Have my sp3 now for over a year. Overall it is not bad, but it has a lot of quirks and strange behaviours. For example: mine will not boot, as long as it is in the dock and connected to two external monitores. I have to unplug them, boot and plug the monitores back in a few times, until the surface accepts them with the right resolution. If you have to do this everytime you want to boot it gets really annoying. Then you have scaling issues, if you want to use lower dpi external monitores. They can be avoided, but the solution is rather shitty. And these are just two everyday issues i have with it. There are more. On top of that the battery of mine died, so after repair i will sell it and get me something better.
