TLDR; Came across an IBM Systemx 3650 M3 fully stocked. Now I have it and don't know what to use it for.
What would you do? Best ideas get done.
A server

you can run a minecraft server for all your little friends
I'd run a local booru for tagging and organizing all my porn
FYI, this is what I'm working with
64GB RAM, Xeon 6 core, 4TB of HDD space
Can use ESXi, Hyper-V, or RedHat for my Hypervisor.
Trade it in for a couple Raspberry Pi 3s
I use mine for FEA but it mostly runs boinc at night

Use ESXi. Top tier

can we get the long version? how did you "come across" a $750+ piece of hardware? failed startup liquidation?
What was considered old gear is now my gear. That's all you need to know. I'm going to install ESXi and maybe to that BOINC server.
Maybe do some sort of public VNC STIG test bed.

Depends on what you want to run. My Dell R610's and R810's run Hyper-V. The DL360 G6's run ESXi, mostly because I need to emulate OSX workloads.
My R610's (2x 5550/96GB/6x 200GB SSD/1x 800GB SSD/24x 600GB 10K) each run 2 DC's, 1 DNS, 1 DHCP, Exchange 2013 CAS, Exchange 2013 DB, SQL 2012 R2, DFS endpoint, and a Server 2016 Storage Spaces Direct node.
Everything is redundant, either at service (AD / DNS / Exchange CAS) or a cluster (SQL, Exchange DAG, Storage Spaces, DHCP)

try running a media server. I have one running right now using Plex, sonar and couch potato to get me all the newest tv shows and movies and i can stream it to pretty much any web browser or phone, Pretty nice and handy also i can share it with friends.
