Anyone using Project Fi? Thoughts or experiences? I'm currently on Verizon and debating switching to save money.
>>
>>53815016
Using it. Pretty decent. It uses towers and wifi
>>
My Nexus 5X comes next week, so I'm getting ready to switch over. It's about the same as I was paying on Verizon, so I'm looking forward to it. Pay what you use data is sweet.
>>
I had them with a nexus 5X, regret it greatly, and switched to boost (S4).

It started out at like ~$50 a month but then gradually climbed to ~90 a month. This carrier isn't worth it at all, would never recommend anybody ever get it.

Now I regularly use 600GB+ of data each month and only pay $55 a month. Speeds aren't fast but still usable (4-6 Mbps).
>>
Don't get it, it's a scam. Boost is a better alternative if you want to save money. The $30 plan gives you up to 5GB of data over time and project fi wants $70 for the same shit. Plus you get unlimited data at 2G speeds after you use all your data. In addition boost has an unlimited high speed lte plan for $55 per month.
>>
>>53815084
*60GB
whoops lol. Though according to boost you can use as much data as you want to so someone out there probably has used this much data.
>>
Lotta poorfag no signal boost shills in this thread

project fi uses sprint networks you dipshit.

I have project fi and I'm seriously considering jumping ship and joining boost.
>>
Just get boost if you want to save money else keep sucking verizon's cock like a good goy.
>>
>>53815016
It depends on how much data you use. I use 1 - 1.5GB a month and it saves me money compared to my old plan. For heavy data use I would look elsewhere.
>>
>>53815507
THIS. Do not get project fi if you use data at all. Even on a stringent 100MB/day diet you will end up using 3GB of data and your bill $50 a month. It's much better to switch to boost and pay $5 for unlimited lte if you use data.

Other than than project fi is nice if you're 60+ and only use your phone to call/text people.
>>
>>53815507
>It depends on how much data you use. I use 1 - 1.5GB a month
I use that much in a day lmao
>>
>>53815578
>I use that much in a day lmao
fucking pleb, I use 6-12GB of data almost every day.

I used to, but almost everywhere I go now has WiFi. And most of the data I do use is from kik or cloverfield. So I'll probably pay like 35 for this month. I'm happy with it.
>>
>>53815016
It's great if you hate data
>>
>>53815665
Fucking auto predict text. I meant clover
>>
>>53815665
You could be saving an additional 5$ a month and getting up to 5GB of data of high speed data then unlimited data at 2G speeds with boost but ok senpai.
>>
>>53815741
So it's 30 including tax?

Not 600GB but might get there someday

I guess not but tax is only like $1/$30 auto-reboost depending on what state you live.

Yeah, I need unlimited data. No way around it
>>
Have a friend that got comped unlimited everything (2GB LTE CAP) with free music streaming on us virgin mobile for 35month. He only had to call and threaten to cancel service.
>>
>>53815669

I have fios at home and there's on campus wifi when I'm at school. Verizon rapes you for data. I currently have the 3GB plan, so project fi would cut my bill in half. I'm in NY, so I'm not concerned about coverage.
>>
>>53816075
If you're trying to save money why would you NOT switch to boost? The phones are also cheap as fuck here. zte warp elite is $100 and Galaxy S4 is like $240.
>>
>>53815981
do you watch youtube on your phone every day all day? what the fuck
>>
>tfw no Project Fi in Canada
>tfw there will never be Project Fi in Canada because the telco cartel never lets an MVNO that could actually compete enter market
>even Virgin had to sell because Bell Canada was squeezing them so much
>>
You guys know you can get a 6+ GB tablet data plan for ~$35 from any carrier, right? Then you just set up calls to use VOIP/SIP and use Hangouts or iMessage instead of SMS. Or can you just use Google Voice to send SMS messages?

Security guard. What else am I to do?
>>
>>53818492
Or unlimited data from based Metro PCS for $60 a month with calls and text or T-Mobile for $95
>>
>>53818428
Not him but 1080p mobile streams are like 4-5 Mbps because they use H264. So viewing 1 hour's worth of 1080p youtube content can consume ~2GB of data alone. I like to watch netflix and youtube on my phone often so just those things alone eat up about 60GB of data each month for me. Luckily I have an unlimited lte plan else project fi would charge me like $1000 a month for the data I use.
>>
>>53818492
Not enough for me, I have boost's $55/month unlimited lte plan. Regularly use 40-50 GB of data each month.
>>
>>53815016
I'm currently a project fi user

If you never have wifi and always use data, it can be extremely expensive. I almost never use my data and always have wifi, so my bills pretty cheap (last month was $27).

Overall, service is pretty good in most places, never had an issue.
>>
Anybody work at tmobile? Isn't there supposed to be some data only plans for phones now?
>>
>>53816155
>why would you NOT switch to boost?

Because Sprint's network is atrocious. I'd choose a T-mobile MVNO first.
>>
>>53818517
>>53818573
Pretty sure Sprint's tablet plan is unlimited data and TMo's includes unlimited content streaming. And, you know, there's kind of a difference between 30-35 and 55-95.
>>
>>53818619
In fairness, their LTE network is on par with ATT and TMo. Their CDMA (3G) network is as bad as TMo's EDGE (2G) network, though. Either one will have trouble just sending and receiving email.
>>
>>53818698
In fairness, that's if you can get a signal....

I commute through some rural areas, and it's a night and day difference between carriers.
>>
>>53818619
>Because Sprint's network is atrocious. I'd choose a T-mobile MVNO first.
It used to be but they've really improved over time especially after the wimax fiasco.

I have boost and suddenly a few months ago lte speeds jumped from 2-3 mbps to 6 mbps. I still get 6 mbps even after using 30gb of data.

Both metropcs and boost are pretty much the same now in terms of network quality but where boost really shines is the cheap phones. 2GB RAM android phones start at $100 with boost (zte warp elite).
>>
>>53818662
I live in the middle of nowhere. T-Mobile works well here, and I like unlocked phones
>>
For those on boost, I understand auto re-boost lowers the unlimited lte plan to $55 a month but is it a contract or can I cancel anytime I want to?

I'm on project fi and looking for something better.
>>
>>53818814
You can cancel any time you want to, all it is is boost automatically takes out the money for your monthly bill from your card.
>>
I have peoject fi and it's fucking shit. Data is overpriced as fuck. I'm done with this meme carrier, next month I'm switching to boost or metropcs.
>>
does anyone here use pageplus?
it's a verizon mvno with pay as you go plans.
what's your experience with it like?
>>
>not using based AT&T
>>
>>53819086
at&t a shit
>>
>>53815131

what do you guys do to use data

I got unlimited, but all I do is use 5 max
>>
>>53819161
Mostly netflix for me. I like to get all cozy in my bed and watch shows on my phone.
>>
Do they still give out the gift sets when you sign up? Ear buds, cases and Legos.
>>
>>53815240
Sprint and t mobile
>>
> be austria fag
>have 1000 free minutes+1000 free texts
>have 7gb lte speed + unlimited 64kb data
> pay 27€

Amerifags are jealous
>>
To all the people mentioning boost mobile and the zte warp elite, I currently use that phone on their $55 plan, ask me anything
>>
>>53819161
I download huge files and upload them to mega
>>
>>53820174
but why?
