Not sure, Dark themes work well at night, in the total dark.
That said, i tend to browse while at work or multi tasking, and i prefer white backgrounds and black text for nearly everything (my autocad uses the light theme, office uses the light theme etc)
I like the new light theme, looks clean, though the circle masks on the images ala google + look kinda tacky.

Here are the two main reasons /g/ complains. There is sometimes way too much padding so you see less content at once like in the Android settings. There is also the circle plus sign that can block content on small screens and is less useful then a tool bar.

i design roads, mostly via importing tin point clouds from surveys, and working it all in autocad.
The program is slow and bulky for most large jobs (anything over about 3 miles long tends to be a nightmare to manage. especially if there are a lot of networks or elevation changes on the surface). It can take upwards of 5-10 minutes at a time to create surfaces from points. Dekstop/Laptop, it does not matter, the program is just jacked up and has gotten worse since 2013.
