Hey /g/, I've had Win 10 for a little while now and I want to switch Linux. What would you recommend? I don't want it to be very complicated.

Mint with cinnamon

This. It really is the best.
Ubuntu 16.04 beta.
>>53804266
Xubuntu. Just install and it is ready to use. Plus it is very lightweight distro.

Don't... Maybe.
The last time I wanted to install this the installer was bugged as fuck.
But I have to admit that more hardware just works on this version.

Mint seems fine for absolute beginners.
But at least try to understand Linux and learn from the experience so you might be able to switch to something else if necessary.
Wait a few weeks for Ubuntu 16.04 to come out and use that.

PCLinuxOS and LXDE.
>>53804266
Trisquel GNU+Linux +1
Lubuntu
Mint and Ubuntu are shit

But anon, he is right. Mint is shit.

except, it's not. If you want a distro that just works, works well, doesn't have a bunch of fucking issues with wifi drivers, and will feel comfortable to anyone that has used Windows (even your parents)
then Mint (Cinnamon) is the best choice.
The only people that hate Mint are people that want to pretend that Linux is "le sekret klub - no normies allowed!" It's just pathetic really.

I'm not running my OS on a toaster.

I switched from win to lubuntu a few months ago, because my laptop has low ram and also because it had a pirated version of windows that didn't work very well
found it very very easy

Works for me perfectly. It's finished already. This is the last beta they're going to release, it's not beta 2 anymore, it's just 16.04 rc.
