two subvariants of the same character archetype, used in two different roles, and an intersting example of a statistical outlier. the childhood friend with short brown hair in Zegapain and Robotics;Notes serve the same role and are the same variant; the same archetype is used differently in RideBack, more akin to Mami's role in Mouretsu Pirates. There's an interesting crossover between these roles in Miku of "Senki Zesshou Symphogear", btw—she serves largely the the second narrative purpose but is arguably played more into the former role. In Kenrann Butou Sai, there's a different variant of the childhood friend—the "long lost/returning" one, but an interesting example thereof. Well I'm not actually allowed to post about this so I'll stop there.

Why do you guys use URxvt? I tried just out of curiosity but I hardly see any benefit from xfce terminal which I continued to use habit (except ease to rice aestheticism).

I rather have both 'free as in beer' and 'free as in speech'
Linux only represents the latter of the qualities, because you might as well get paid to spend hour configuring your server OS in order it to be usable for the slightest desktop use.
And I much rather had the beer.

Real talk: Linux is easy for most of us, but it's user facing design is stuck in the 70s.
I'm happy to pay a SysOp good money to manage that system because it's a very good server platform.
But that doesn't acquit the failings of Linux design philosophy on desktop.
Graphic and UX designers don't work for free and a misguided naive ideal like some hackers.
And good programmers rather get paid.
It's no surprise Red Hat/CentOS is the only sensible distro.
No one in the right mind would hedge their bets on a bunch of socially misadjusted hackers except for corporate backing.

Kek, Have you looked at anything in this thread? It looks fantastic if you know what you are doing. And if you need something preinstalled there are some pretty decent out of the box DEs.
>>
>>53802452
you obviously haven't seen any modern DE that's available for the many Linux distros. They all look and function like they are in the year 2016.

The very reason you have this thread is an argument why Linux desktop computing is bad.
