Switched to Android from my iphone 5 some time ago but I still cant get used to the fact that android needs 3 buttons to do what the iPhone does with one.

I miss dat one button minimalism. Why so many buttons?
>>

This shit just writes itself.

Never said it was hard you fucking retard.

How well did the iPhone combine back, home, and recent apps into the single button? I'm not very familiar with that, but I think this is fine, it's perfectly simple
>>
>>53796537
Back is swipe to the right from the left edge of the screen, it's more natural than moving your thumb down to press a button. Press home button once for home. Press home button twice for the app switcher (recent apps).
>>
>>53796792
ios doesn't really have sub-menus anyway, am i right ?
just because swiping twice or three times to get back to the main menu of the settings app for example would be annoying as fuck

It does have sub-menus. Depends on the app. It's also used to go back and forth in web browsers. You still have the back buttons though, like in pic related, at the top left. It's not really that annoying either because it can be done in pretty quick swipes.
>>
>>53796960
I like how the lines dont line up
>>
>>53796960
I had an iphone 4 tho but i can't remember if it did that
I went for the top left thing tbqh
>>
>>53797006
This is mid transition back to the previous menu
>>
>>53797006
They are not supposed to. That screenshot is in the middle of the swiping back motion. To the left is the main menu, with a sub-menu to the right.

The back button exists because there are a ton of legacy apps from when Android had more hardware buttons. Pic related. Google has killed HW buttons now and they emulate it with software.

Recent apps is a separate button because it's very frequently used. Older versions of Android let you hold the home button to access recent apps. Now there's a dedicated button, and holding the home button brings up a google now search / voice command thing. In many existing custom ROMs and in future versions of Android, holding the recent apps button will immediately switch to the last app.

You can tweak all this shit if you want to get into aftermarket ROMs. I have a ROM and use the hold-to-quick-switch frequently.
>>
>>53797106
Also, I prefer having a dedicated back button at the bottom. Most of the phone controls are at the bottom so there's less reaching across the screen
>>
>I like additional button presses and reaching to the top right corner of the screen instead of the bottom left

Jesus, its just a different OS. Why do androidfags have to get so mad every time they read the word iPhone somewhere?

Anyway, the one thing I do miss about my iPhone is the swipe to return. The 6S apparently also lets you switch between apps easily by hard pressing the edge of the screen. How well does that work, iPhonefags?
>>
>>53796447
Hitler did nothing wrong
>>
>Six dot:
single tap = screen off, long press = notification drawer, longer press = quick settings
>Square:
single tap = recent apps, press and hold = close all recent apps, double tap = switch to previous app, long press = power menu (shutdown, reboot, etc)
>Circle:
tap = home, tap at home = list of all my apps, longpress = google now on tap (fucking google scans the screen for any useful information and shit, it's neat tbqh), swipe left/right = volume down/up,
>Triangle:
single tap : back, long press = kills the app properly

Is this really that complicated for you ifags ?
:^)
>>
>>53797601
That sounds so fucking stupid.
>>
>>53797601
Not on default android
>>
>>53797601
>google now on tap (fucking google scans the screen for any useful information and shit, it's neat tbqh)

So you cant even tell what is useful on your screen by yourself but you're bitching at applefags?
>>
>>53797601
Needs more buttons and functionalities.
>>
>>53797669
yep, it's not default.
You know, I hold my phone differently and this way I don't have to use the real buttons.
>>53797748
Don't be mad, because your phone can't do this

I have 3d touch though

Fuck off with your long presses and longer presses
>>
>>53796792
>Back is swipe to the right from the left edge of the screen
Yes, but it's not universal between apps. On Android I can open a link from my email using Chrome, and then when I'm done with it, hit the back button to go back to email.

Because it is for the content inside the app. Going back and forth in a single browser tab for example. For what you're saying there's pic related.

I can also press on the left of screen and swipe to right for the last app opened, or press harder for app switcher

Why must lagdroid users lie?
>>
i can tap the status bar to scroll to the top of page content, works universally (sans games). Can android do similar?
>>
>>53797290
Works easy peasy senpai, you can swipe back to the previous page still, just not between apps.
