Java is the real patrician language.
The reason plebs hate it is because they are forced to take programming classes, even though they don't want to become programmers (let's say a Math major, or a CS major who wants to become sys admin, for example, or a CS major who just wanted to make muh games), and then project their hate of programming onto Java.
Once you actually use Java for a while, you see how great it really is, most people fail because they don't have what it takes.

I don't get the hate towards java, since it's one of the most used languages and can get you a good job if you what are you doing and not being a cuck.

But I love Haskell, C, Rust, Idris, Prolog, Mercury and other languages designed by actual computer scientists.

I broadly agree, it's a good language, and is usable at many levels. That said, I wouldn't have agreed with you 10 years ago, the language has evolved phenomenally (not least as applets are no longer a buzzword).
You can even get high performance stuff working on it nicely, I had a job where, for whatever reason, we had the NAG libraries in Java - it took a bit of effort but performance was achieved.
