Asus is in God Tier if you plan to watercool.
It stays in shit-tier for the included air-cooling though.

XFX is high tier in USA (lifetime warranty) and shit-tier everywhere else.

This is a terrible idea, the 'best temps' card is likely to have the best stock cooler (likely at a premium)

If you're replacing the stock cooler, buy whatever has the best VRM setup.
>>
msi, evga (i don't even buy nvidia) should be god tier

Gigabyte and sapphire make the best AMD cards, you fucking faggots. They get the highest clocks and the lowest temperatures.
My 280x is overclocked to 1280mhz (had to flash a custom vBIOS with custom voltage). It never goes over 70c.
>>
Why is sapphire so highly regarded?
>>
>>53790397
Powercolor's PCS+ cards are pretty good.
Only their PCS+ cards though.

I have a powercolor radeon hd 7950 pcs+ card and had no problems so far (~3-4years)

Gigabyte

Just need clarification it's still work?
>>
>>53790270

sapphire used to be shit until the 3xx series.

280x from sapphire actually melts because most chokes and vrms arent cooled at all, like not even a fucking heatsink.

Asus had good shit until radeon 2xx series.

Msi was shit until 3xx series. now its up there with Sapphire.

Gigabyte on the other hand has always always been good tho.

god tier: gigabyte
high tier: sapphire, MSI

shit tier.
everything else.
>>
>>53791484
Yes, it works fine
I mean it feels like a brick, there's not wobble, no sag, it feels solid all the way through
>>
>>53791545
Gigabytes current AMD lineup is full of voltage-locked cards with noisy dual-fan coolers, for some reason.
Sapphire's 290(X) cards were some of the best on the market, they really learned from their mistakes.
>>
>>53791578
yup, i have a gigabyte 390, wish i got even powercolor
>>
>>53791567
Just messin m80
>>
>>53790518
Becouse they have great coolers (go compare the tri x and nitro cards with other vendors) for stock cards and appear to have a decent quality controll. / not many people complain about bad cards.
>>
>>53792174
Would that really matter on a 300 series card? Since the fan is only used above 65C?
>>
>>53792201
Definitely, if the heatsink is good then the fans can kick on later and when they do kick on, they can spin slower.
>>
>>53790270
wait until they actually come out before tiering shit

anyway, for the 390(x) at least:

sapphire/msi are the best, with powercolor pcs+ close behind

gigabyte is the worst, due to a shitty cooler, locked voltages, and odd wake on shutdown issue

asus is also pretty bad since they love to cut costs by slapping nvidia coolers onto amd cards, and god help you if your card is defective and you need their customer service

everyone else is somewhere in the middle
>>
>>53791062
there's a Sapphire r9-390 Nitro on amazon.co.uk for sub £300... what are you on about?
>>
>>53790495
Gigabyte is terrible in 300 series, MSI took their place in the silent/OC department
>>
>>53791062
Crypto-currency crazy like ethereum, caused all the R9 280x & R9 290x, and the 7990 go up in value and still hold value.

Look into the r9 390s with 8gb to fill the 290x void.
>>
>>53792711
This, basically. Sapphire has the absolute best temps in 300 series and usually are good overclockers too, MSI makes the best 390/X for overclocking and their build quality is quite something (also best VRM cooling)
>>
>>53790333
the fucks wrong with xfx m8

ive been using xfx cards for 6 years with no fucking problem
>>

Sapphire,Powercolor

ok tier
everyone else

Everyone else reuses old cooling methods used on competitor card that don't work so well on the other,Sapphire makes new cooling methods with need which I thought was pretty cool with their vapor chamber cooling tech with the Vapor series/tri fan cooling.Powercolor's method with PSS+ is just having the most metal on a heat sink as possible and big ass fans to cool works but my god are the cards huge.

EVGA GTX 460 is one of my favorite looking cards of all time. Such a clean design. Good marks for the old 9800 GT as well.
>>
>>53793392
This is what I've heard as well. With Asus being shitty beyond all belief.
>>
>>53794824
I can confirm that, using a MSI 390X right now, it's quiet and OC really well, although it can get pretty hot at times so I undervolted it. Running 1060/1600 with -69mv and temps have been fine
>>
>>53790518
They dominate the workstation card market. When companies say they need a w9000 series they don't even say AMD, they say Sapphire
>>
I managed to get a sapphire nitro 380 rather than an ASUS strix version. How much of a bullet did I dodge?
