Hey guys, what do you think about the thinkpad yoga?

I can get one for about $1500 with an i7-6500U CPU, 16GBs of RAM and a 512GB SSD (special offer for students).

Is it worth it? Should I get it? How well does it run Linux? The pen especially has to work on Linux.

Does the botnet also affect the Thinkpads too? I thought it was just the "consumer" models.

Botnet? What botnet?

Bloatnet

Lenovo bundled bloatware into the BIOS. Even if you clean installed Windows, the bloatware would reinstall itself. Not sure if they still do it however.

Does this affect me if I don't even run windows? I have the option of buying it with no OS installed to save a couple of bucks.

Why didn't you get the i5 one? Significantly cheaper:

The difference is negligible.

If you install Linux or another os then you have nothing to worry about

The special price for students is only for the i7 model (and more specifically, the model with 16Gb of ram and 512Gb SSD, i.e. the highest available configuration). I can have it for around $1500.Ordering it directly from Lenovo would cost more than $2000 in my country.

The i5 model (without special offer) costs around $1500, so I'd better get the i7 for the same price.
