>Get this
How is this acceptable again?
>>
>>53776717
it probably didn't look like that before you pull it off

IIRC a machine just does it then squeezes the heatsink on
>>
Your fault for doing such a stupid shit as buying a 600 US fucking dollars GPU.
>>
>>53776736
Air bubbles appear when you take it off anon, not empty spaces on the die
>>
>>53776775
It's meant to melt into those spaces when you run the card.
>>
>>53776745
But muh games!
>>
>>53776799
I've been running it for nearly 7 months now anon
>>
>>53776745
Needed it for work, I don't play games
Ditching this thing soon and getting a gratis radeon pro duo
>>
>EVGA

That's what you get. I know every single thing is a "le meme" now but in all seriousness this "EVGA is good" is a meme. Needs to fucking die. And no I don't give a shit how good their customer support is.

>>

That's not why at all you moron
Ditching it because the radeon pro duo is better, and free
>>
>>53776947
I don't know what your shitty anecdote is about but when I installed my water block on my 980ti my paste wasn't anything like that and I didn't have temp issues before at all
>>
>>53777000
I have been running this card for 7 months now, I have no idea why my card got shitty paste. Finally got sick of my 80C temps and opened the thing up and saw the horrendous paste.
>>
>>53777038
So replace the paste and enjoy a normal temps..
>>
>>53777038
>80c temps
so you voided your warranty instead of RMA'ing it because of shit temps
>>
>>53777038
Is it a Titan or a Quadro? It's meant to run at 80'c under load.
>>
>>53777054
Getting a new card in a month, why RMA?
>>
>>53777088
980ti, coworker has a titan x and another coworker has a 980ti. Both perform the same in 3D according to our "benchmarks" we made. So I went with the cheaper card.
>>
>>53777095
because you could have RMA'd it, demanded a refund and then got your new card

instead you trashed a card, voided the warranty, lost your money because of it and now you're gonna buy a different 600 dollar card?
>>
>>53777054
anon replacing thermal paste does not void warranty. At least not with EVGA
>>
>>53777143
[removing this sticker voids warranty]
>>
>>53777095
Why didn't you just download MSI afterburner and turn up the fan curve?

the default power setting aims for 80 degrees you know that? your thermal paste might not even have been faulty
>>
>>53777117
If it's the stock card, it's still designed to run at that temperature. If you improve the thermal interface, you might get a tiny improvement in clock it will still aim at 80'c.
>>
>>53777167
There is not sticker on EVGA cards around the ACX cooler screws.
Look even read the warranty

>>
>>53777127
this. It appears that OP is an asspie
>>
>>53777192
I did, 82% on fans only brought it to 75c and the noise was annoying for my coworkers
>>
>>53777127
I'm not buying the card. I'm selling this card to my coworker for 600 dollars and getting a radeon pro duo for free
>>
>>53777211
>Graphics Cards that are modified by customer outside of factory specifications and/or not in factory condition.
>Defects or damages resulting from improper testing, operation, maintenance, installation, service, or adjustment not furnished or approved by EVGA CORPORATION.
>EVGA CORPORATION reserves the right to check the validity of your warranty and your request for warranty service upon receiving the product.

So they'll simply void your warranty because you removed the cooler and changed the thermal paste.

They'll simply claim that you mishandled it, did poor maintenance and damaged the card as they invoke that last clause I copy pasted about how they'll "review it" for anything above
>>
>>53777278
They usually don't do this unless you put a teeny amount of paste on or actually break the card.
>>
>>53776717
Looks fine to me.
Thermal space is supposed to occupy spaces where there is no contact between the cooler and the heatspreader.
>>
>>53777233
So you pulled the classic

>had one bad girlfriend, better go gay...

trick? You couldn't just RMA it, get a new card in the same time it'll take AMD to ship you a card?

>>53777299
yea because we're gonna rely on assumptions and not just take advantage of the warranty they give us. Thats why the warranty is there dude.

You don't buy a car with a warranty, something breaks that is under the warranty then attempt to fix it yourself instead of bringing it to the dealer to have the warranty cover it.

thats the purpose of the warranty for shit like this.

Lets not go based on assumptions like "they don't usually do this" because they very well might say "nah you fucked your card m8" and now you've got a broken, really hot GPU.
>>
You fucks keep saying RMA but I have the same issue as OP with my 980ti from EVGA and you cannot RMA it at these temps. Until the thing goes above 91c it's within their range of safe operating temperatures and they don't care.

OP should just replace the paste.

then what the fuck was the point of this thread? fucktard.
>>
>>53777347
EVGA has best customer support. One of my friends had a screw spring rip the threads on a screw and they still accepted it. You clearly don't actually have any experience with them as a company

did you even read the warranty? its open ended enough for them to reject his shit

All he had to fucking do was say "wow these temps are kinda hot and the fan is loud" and all he had to do was RMA the thing with "its really hot and really loud, please send me another one"

But no, he made a thread bitching about it, about how he already ripped off the cooler, claimed EVGA was bad (even though he never made an attempt to get support) then effectively said "I had a bad girlfriend, I'm gonna go be gay now" by going over to AMD because somehow his stupid ass was too busy signing up for another brand GPU before he even got real support for his first one.

1. EVGA are good goys, replacing paste is within their warranty
2.They will not send a new card just because the temps are bad, they will just send it right back to you
3.Not bitching about it, just posted a picture of bad paste and you got buttblasted
4.Didn't rip off the cooler
5.I have done nothing but defend EVGA, never said they were bad
6.I'm switching over to AMD because I need a dual GPU card and the titan z is out dated, I still have Nvidia cards in my computer at home
7.You are autistic
>>
>>53777600
>2.They will not send a new card just because the temps are bad, they will just send it right back to you

This.
And 80C° has been normal for damn near every Nvidia card I had.
>>
>>53777600
>Not bitching about it

>OP's start
>HOW IS THIS ACCEPTABLE?
>didn't rip off the cooler
then how did you get to the GPU if you didn't take off the cooler?

>I need dual GPU
then get a second 980ti?
>>
>>53777278
You're dumb. EVGA are one of the companies that has no issue with you removing the stock cooler, as long as you replace it before sending it in for an RMA.
