i disagree. i stopped using DE's all together but XFCE is by far my fav. It's pretty (unlike lxde), it's very very customizable, it's lightweight, and i could go on and on.
I do respect that we all have our opinions tho, but the reason development has slowed down is because it's been around so long they don't need to add more features and most the bugs are fixed.
I never understood why DE's are constantly updated. I get that you need to be able to utilize the latest libs are grow with the rest of system, but shit like KDE (which I liked a lot before plasma) just constantly bloats up.
