Is it a good idea to defragment your HDD before cloning to SSD? Or am I just being stupid?
If the data is being read then written to the SSD then I don't think its possible that it can fragment files across the chips.
No point at all.
It will copy in an organised fashion over to the ssd.
If the hard drive is heavily fragmented it will just slow down the transfer speed.
Your SSD will read everything wat faster anyway so no point as I see it.

That makes sense, I was getting paranoid due to my lack of understanding that I may have to do it again.

This is a stupid question. Post it in the stupid question sticky. I'll be happy to answer it there.

Nobody ever answers my stupid questions in those threads, am I too stupid?
If you're cloning to even a brand new HDD then it will not be fragmented, when files are read and copied over they're in full blocks as they wouldn't even be copied over otherwise. The software doesn't just dump the old into the new with the fragmented space included.
