I believe that there are men who believe that the alpha/beta distinction is meaningful and/or important, and who consider themselves "betas". You can call that group whatever you want, though I would avoid the term "beta" because most PUA/redpill types use that word to describe a much broader group.
I do think members of that group tend to have worse outcomes in dating/relationships, but I think the reason is that they are redpillers, and most redpillers seem to be attracted primarily to mentally unstable, less-desirable women.
