Daily reminder that software engineering is not "coding"
Define engineering
Engineering is the application of mathematics, empirical evidence and scientific, economic, social, and practical knowledge in order to invent, innovate, design, build, maintain, research, and improve structures, machines, tools, systems, components, materials, and processes.
Daily reminder that there are countless specializations in software. From writing silly websites, to creating neural networks and AI, to writing highly optimized C/assembly for specific embedded architectures.

Most of the time engineering title does not belong to coders in my opinion, but in the end what difference does it really make what someones title is? If it makes somebody feel better and more productive, then whatever. Why not other nice titles for embedded developer or embedded code maintainers?... how about these titles:
embedded systems developer
systems analyst

You passed pajeet now get out

I don't think anyone was claiming a Systems Analyst is a coder.
A developer is an engineer if they engage in the software engineering process holistically though.

Wtf I hate coding now

>holistically<lol />
Want to actually be paid what you're worth?
Use Software Engineer.
Not "coder" "code monkey" "programmer".
Also this. >>53759610
You retards need to learn social perceptions.

No, but I think being a coder who understands systems would be closer to systems analyst than engineer. Engineer implies that you are an applied scientist. You need to know more than just coding.
