Learning Python, have the basic syntax down and understand a bit. Where do I go from here? Where does one move on to after finishing the absolute basics? Do I think of a beginner application and study my way through It?

Any references? Problems In my life don't require much automation. And If they do It would probably be advanced.

Are there any Python syntax search engines or references?
Just learn a framework. Almost no one uses base Python dor anything but learning programming and writing very small programs quickly for things like automation and string handling. You want to build a website, learn Django. You want to make a game, learn some python game library. If you want to actually learn programming, learn C.
Part of programming is learning to come up with things to do on your own. That's how programmers stay up to date.
