Why...
dem pis git hawt senpai
>>53738002
For that overclocking, famino.
>>53738025
Why should you overclock a pi?
>>53738042
why not?
>>53738052
Is that real?
Jesus fuck
>>53738052
>China syndrome
>>53738002
The foundation of Pi is to be small, why you're trying to ruin it?
>>53738002
That is pretty awesome, even if it's pointless.
>>53738002
>Not OCing your rasbpi
You some kinda homo?
>>53738042
Why should you overclock any CPU? People generally don't do it because they somehow depend on 5% better performance and potentially decreased system stability. They do it for the challenge. Overclocking something like the rPi seems like a fun thing as the financial risk is super low.
>>53738217
Except on my raspberry 1 B it's like 40% performance increase with a $2 heat sink, and no instability.
>>53738491
Yeah I managed to gain a 13% increase on the stock cooler on my desktop and it's noticeably faster when encoding video
>>53738088
no. lol
mine sits at 50C under load
>>53738042
DEM PERFORMANCE GAINNZZZZZZZZZ
I kind of wanna do it; 900Mhz is kind of weak for a quad core.
>>53738088
Yes
the new raspberry pi is shit
>>53738052
IT'S SO BRIGHT
>>53741992
900 Mhz is laughably weak for a quad-core. I hope nobody paid actual money for such a thing.
>>53741992
>>53742605
Are you comparing x86 CPUs with ARM?
>>53738052
did someone overlay a picture of the sun on this fucking pi or is it just that shit
>>53743354
I think they are.
>>53738002
Why not?
>>53738002
No doubt this cooler cost 4-5 times what the actual pi cost. The only reason they make it so easy to overclock them is so they break faster and people need to buy new ones
>>53738002
Guess
>>53745075
That is the single most useless picture I have seen in a while.
>>53738002
Ever heard the term "because I can"?
>>53738052
You can almost boil water with that thing.
>>53745271
Oh, Build a lens in the reservoir tank with a black bottom. I think some strong light source could push it the last few degrees. Then the Pi could make hot drinks.
Imagine the harder you code the more coffee the computer makes.
INFINITE PROGRAMMER!!!
Here's hoping that pocket CHIP isn't as hot.
Really looking forward to a comfy little linux device to mess around with in the bathroom
>>53746724
but CHIP is a scam
>>53738052
You can get a little aluminium sink for like 1$ on ebay. Maybe 2.50$ if you go copper
>>53746757
Why?
50 bucks for a UMPC is pretty damn good
>>53738052
Did someone try to run Doom on it?
>>53746799
I thought the graphics chipset mostly useless on Linux, because there was no hardware acceleration because shitty manufacturer
>>53746819
I'm pretty sure the SOC they're using is well documented and supported by the kernel
Linux on ARM is pretty damn mature these days, especially debian and gentoo.
>tfw using mpv to watch anime on a shitty screen under the covers
maximum comfy. I can't wait
>>53746819
And this is why you use android on these boards if you want hw acceleration
>>53738002
>>53738491
2$ heat sink? What'd you OC it to? I've the Raspberry Pi 2. Debating on OCing it.
>>53746809
I think even the weakest Raspberry Pi model can run the original Doom/Doom 2 without issues.
>>53746819
That's the main reason Raspberry Pi's use the garbage "Videocore IV" graphics chips
>Raspberry pi
>>53747393
if you're going to keep posting this jewess, at least give name and tell me if she has nudes.
>>53746933
Anon asking is a newfag. He meant the new Doom.
>>53747434
Newfag
>>53738052
Did someone try runing crysis on it or something?
>>53738570
>hurr durr AIDA shows 13%
>must be 13% faster hurr
>dun need real world benchmarks and math to figure auto real % of increase durr
>Not liking hot raspberry pie
>>53738002
Because that is pretty cool, even if unnecessary. These things are basically toys for nerds.
Some anon did a oil submerged one and posted it here some time ago, I wish I had saved some pics of it
>>53738123
>The foundation of Pi is to be small,
no, my dumb friend. it's supposed to be universally accessible and applicable. the small package is just a consequence.
