are there any/many good smartphones that run an open source OS? I don't want to be cucked by google or apple.
I really don't know much about the topic so feel free to call me a fag or redirect me to /sqg/

Is Cyanogenmod worth trying out? /will it be less botnet than the stock ROM?

Okay. Any recommendations for AOSP roms for me to try out?
I know there are phones built with ubuntu for the OS, Meizu Pro 5 for example.
Basically I like the functionality of 'smart phones' I just don't want to be free of paranoia about my device. Sorry for blog post

Yes and yes. Especially if you don't include Google apps with it.

Why not?

Neo900 by Openphoenux is our only salvation senpai. It's pricey and hasn't been released yet but it will be the most open source phone available. Even the Calypso baseband chip it uses has leaked specs and people are working on libre firmware for it (might take a while though and would actually be illegal). Also the baseband chip isn't integrated with the SoC so it doesn't have direct access to RAM and everything like with most cuck phones.
And it's comfy...

Yes it is. It's usually the most optimized custom ROM out there, and also have enough features and very good compatibility. Also every thing you don't like can be easily removed.

Ehh.. How much? I may rather get a bonnet than that thing.
