2nd edition was pretty good and Robert Love is a good writer in general IMO.
that said, it's *very* high level and little more than an overview of key kernel modules, functions, and data structures.
Understanding the Linux Kernel by Bovet & Cesati is a similar book with more depth (though getting a bit old at this point) if kernel development is something you're positive you want to do and invest time learning about but still don't have any concrete knowledge yet.
