No, it'll never be anywhere close. See pic related. If you go to an imax you can only focus on a section of the screen at a time. And yet, you can see the other areas of the screen with your peripheral vision. EVERYTHING is filled with screen. With a vr headset you can only see the inner slice with no peripheral vision in any direction (PL, PR, PU, PD).
