Dude I don't know how old you are, I'm 34 and i can tell you, vr was in its infancy when I was 14. There were two places in Sydney you could see this in action. Sega World - had some really shitty vr (complete with head tracking) and another place called Intencity(?) i can't remember the fucking spelling it was 20 fucking years ago. Those guys showcased all the latest in emerging vr tech in a fucking arcade open to the public.
Granted, the tech has improved significantly, however, as anon stated above vr was essentially a fad which burned out pretty quick in the 90's.
