Whats a good, fully featured z170 motherboard which doesn't cost as much as a processor?
I went with the Asus Z170-A back in like September.
Has worked well so far and has all the features I want on it.

dont feel like going for x99 motherboards and theyre even more expensive,

You spend like 20 bucks more on a 5820k/x99 board than a 6700k/z170 board.

2 extra cores, probably much better temps because the die is soldered.

2 more cores, more expensive mobos, limited pcie lanes unless you give intel another 200 bucks, win 7 support till 2020 instead of 2017 if you care about that. I've been using this and a 5820k and it pushes though anything like warm butter and it runs pretty cool too.
