Any /g/ certified movies about hacking that are to some extend realistic and not made in the 80's?

hackers is fairly accurate
If a movie showed actual working current hacking techniques the filmmakers would violate government law and get sued/sent to jail

you're right. this is why programming is not allowed to be taught in CS programs. #rekd

Matrix has not aged well in terms of style, it just seems kind of cringey now. Matrix 2/3 and Animatrix are still as awesome as ever, though.

Not a movie, but Mr. Robot is pretty good. Has a few cringe moments, but for the most part it's pretty solid.

Realistic hacking is one person sitting on his ass for 16 hours a day click-clacking on a keyboard.
Riveting stuff.

rollerblades, although they are technically inline skates they are just known as rollerblades because that is a popular brand (although inline skates themselves are not very popular)

What would Trinity do if they were using SSHv2?
Serial experiments lain
>>53727279
The most unrealistic thing that happened in the matrix is that a computer using an absurdly out of date core service with publicly available exploits was hooked up to the internet for an extended period of time and was not rm -rf'd by the time Trinity needed to access it. Completely broke the immersion for me, I walked out of the theater.

The greatest hacker ever shown in a movie was Freeman Lowell from Silent Runnings. This mother fucker programmed AI with a fucking soldering iron and magnifying glass. TFW you think you need a text editor to program.
