It's called shareware. A concept from the 90s that now one uses anymore because companies know people will buy their products even if they don't gezt to try it ou beforehand.
You should be using 7zip anyway. It's smaller (both in size and memory footprint), faster and more efficient.

You have a shitty compression cpu, 7zip is faster than winrar.
Winrar is handled by a group of inepts while 7zip has a lot of support from people that actually do like coding, because hey literally do it for free.

Thought I was the only one who was fond of those. Unles 7zip or whatever the like gets better zip/rar file association icons, I don't really mind having Winrar all that much. I really only use it to extract shit either way, compiling rars very rarely.

There are people who will pay if the product is decent and/or there is a strong demand.

http://arstechnica.com/business/2012/06/winamp-how-greatest-mp3-player-undid-itself/
>The Windows Advanced Multimedia Products (WinAMP) player was released to the world on April 21, 1997. The next year, when its parent company Nullsoft formally incorporated, Winamp became $10 shareware. But no one pays for shareware, right? Wrong.

>“Nothing ever was broken [if you didn’t pay], there was no feature that was unlocked,” Rob Lord told Ars. “In that year before we were acquired, we were bringing in $100,000 a month from $10 checks—paper checks in the mail!”

Even though their nag message was a bit dickish, I'm sure the WinRar folks made money hand over fist at one time.

Oh and don't forget to TRIM to make vids shorter or to capture a certain part of the video you're making and then resize to something like 960*540 (simply type 960 in widtdh) and then crop if you don't want to show borders and or names of your character etc.

Doesn't matter since speed doesn't kill, it's imbalance in the traffic caused by drivers that hesitate and don't follow the flow of the traffic and or does spur decisions endangering others that take for granted that you know how to handle your machine.

Free advertising. By leaving it in a usable state after the trial period ends they allow people to proliferate the RAR file format. RAR files need archival software capable of handling them and the obvious first choice for normalfags is WinRAR because it literally has RAR in the name and its one of the first choices if you search for RAR files. WinRAR is also the only one capable of creating RAR archives so normalfags would probably be drawn to it for that reason as well if they haven't discovered 7zip.
>>
>>53712428
7zip sometimes fails to extract rar archives.
