I don't understand why we fuck around with all these other shits or even want to pay an extraordinary amount to get your rotring more travel friendly by retractability, the zebra is simply too cheap to even care if you drop it and break the nib.

It's funny because plastic is objectively better because it's more light-weight, and thinner for easier grasping.

I like the graphgear 500 because I don't feel like pressing down as much with my own muscles
>>

I prefer the Pentel P205 and P203 because I can hold them further down due to their slimness and taper. I find this allows he more control than I get with others like the 500

My Rotring Rapid Pro has no play in the nib, and it's a sliding sleeve.

>Why do you ask for anything more in a pencil?
Because I'm of the mind that things I put in my pockets shouldn't damage my pockets.

>the zebra is simply too cheap to even care if you drop it and break the nib
I treasure even my cheap possessions. I would sooner part with my PC than my PS2. Owning a pencil with a non-retractable sleeve would play on my mind.
>>
>>53700871
I used that for a while for some drafting. It was nice, but the grip fucked with my wrist muscles

I almost bought a rapid pro but got the precision instead, quality pencil but too heavy for me.

Amazon would probably take a return but I just returned a 600 so I don't want to push it.

Who here /stronggrip/
>>
>>53701927
The rapid pro is really nice, but there's a few problems with it I've noticed in the months I've had it.

>barrel corners are rounded off
It rolls on desks.
>pocket clip secured to a uniformly cylindrical area
It's on tight, but mechanically-speaking this is the worst design, it's the quickest to allow play.
>sleeve retraction requires pressuring the sleeve while releasing the push-button
Bad for reasons too obvious to state.

I'm a mechanical engineer, shit like that drives me nuts. Not because they're huge problems, but because they were all entirely avoidable (with the possible exception of the sleeve mechanism) design flaws.

The Precision looks really nice, might get one and keep the Rotring as a backup.
>>
>>53702343

They're knurled cylinders, you're retarded if you think that's a bad design. The Lamy Safari has good ergonomics if you write a certain way, if you don't write the way Lamy wants you to write, it has bad ergonomics.

>bending tip
What are you talking about? Do you mean that they have 4mm lead sleeves? Is that what you mean by "bending tip"? Well mine must be defective, because it doesn't bend. It very likely moves less than yours.

Rotring is a brand, not a pencil.

And a Rotring 800+, which I think you're referring to, is a world away from a Lamy Safari. It's just a far superior pencil, in every way.
>>
>>53704371
Got my precision instead and sort of regret it, even down to the grip being slightly less knurled.
>>
>>53704371
It's over priced trash. I can get a drafting pencil that would just as well for like $10, and it will last just as long with proper care. I have a 0.3 mm Koh-i-noor rapidomatic that is over a decade old and still works perfectly.

Oh, you're one of those.

I'm not interested in the circle-jerk. I wish you lot, as well as audiofools, would just fuck off to a desert island where nobody has to hear from you.

And I sort of doubt you have a rapidomatic, you might, but minutes ago you were referring to "rotring" as if it was a single pencil. In fact, it's hard to tell what exactly you were trying to say, because you can barely get out a coherent thought.

You're the first illiterate pencil enthusiast I've heard of, well done.

no better place to ask.

i got an art marker set a while back, i fucking love making really thin lines and i don't always want to break out the crow quill nib dip pen.

now how this relates to pencils.

for writing i vastly prefer my mechanical pencil.
however, i have a micron 005 marker, the thing is somewhere between .1 and .25mm

to make a long story short, i fucking love writing small, and this marker lets me write as small as i can, i could get a .3mm pencil, but most of the time i write i am required to use a pen...

are there any bulk ways to buy a really really thin marker pen for cheap?

i have considered a rapidograph, but needing to write at a 90 degree angle and how ink is fed through it doesn't appeal to me at all.
