I need a new mouse. I've always used MX510, MX518 or G400 so I wanted to order another G400 or something similar. Well turns out, they're not sold anymore and the new ones from logitech all look like they're for people with small hands like children which is probably their target group anyway.
What do you recommend? Since I no longer play games I really don't want to spend a lot of money (<50€). I just need a comfortable, reliable, firm and solid mouse with the usual buttons plus back and forward buttons.

G400 is still the best mouse money can buy. Every other new mouse has some caveat.
Get your hands on a G400, even if you have to pay out the nose, and do the cord fix. It's worth it.

The G400 is perfect in every way except the cord, which fails reliably on almost all of them. Thankfully it's an easy fix and once you do it, you've got a god-tier perfect mouse.

op here, might be the cord. I have the disconnecting problem (wasn't aware that this was a common problem) and when scrolling down using my mouse wheel it sometimes doesn't respond. Will look into it.
If that doesn't help I will have to settle for one of those since I'm not willing to pay 150€ for another G400.

There is no proper G400 replacement. I went to the G402, which is supposed to be the successor, but it's not quite there. The shape is slightly different - not as comfortable, but not awful. It looks like a spaceship.
It works, but not as well as the MX51x/G400.
Try to repair yours or be prepared to pay a lot of money to get a new one.

I actually prefer the G402 because they did away with the retarded DPI buttons layout and made them MUCH easier to access (index or thumb).
Still, I did fix my G400's cord and am now using it with my laptop.
