Is there even any reason to use qualcomm anymore?
Why haven't more mainstream manufacturers moved to mediatek, which is completely outperforming qualcomm at every price point.
mtk6753 BTFOs a SD615
mtk6752 beats a SD801 in single thread, and beats the SD810 in multi thread performance.
Then there's the helio x10, which is annihilating everything from qualcomm.
Let's not forget mediatek chips are more efficient and don't suffer thermal issues like qualcomm ones do.
mtk6752 used in the lenovo k3 note matches the apple a9 in multithread performance too.

Yes, they have a stranglehold on radio licenses in USA.
That's the only reason anyone is still using them and the reason why there are multiple variants of some phones with Snapdragon SoCs in USA and something better for the international model.
