I'm saying this based off the fact that a phone I have (HTC One M7), which performs roughly on the level of identical to the Helio X10 in single core and in antutu, on a completely AOSP GPE ROM (no sense bloat), I get "performance as expected" which means there is bits of lag here and there loading apps. Camera takes a few seconds to open, chrome takes seconds, skype takes many seconds, etc.
I could easily use the M7 for a much longer time because the performance is still good, but there is definitely real world difference.
Helios X10 is a year old SoC, you would be stupid to not pay the bit extra to get the Pro. The Helios X20 is what's current. In this specific case I am right.
