Went from the droid 2 to the droid 4, and waited forever for an upgrade.
Finally ditched it and went with blackberry passport. Love the phone, but feel that alot of the hype on blackberry security is overrated and/or only for blackberry enterprise $100k solutions.
Oh well. It has a physical keyboard that works well, a nice big screen, and runs most android apps in a semi-usable state.tb

Very usable but most of my apps can't use landscape, I end up sliding out the keyboard to type on a sideways screen.

Not sure where you get that from. I can't think of any phone application that I want to be horizontal. Many apps have lists of information. Play Store, text messenger, music player, news / RSS, file manager, 4chan. They're basically lists, sometimes in grids if the content is small enough. Touch screen applications need the content oversized so that you can interact with it. Put it in a vertical list and you can scroll through it.

after going through apps again I think the file manager is OK horizontal with a grid view but list still works a little better with the oversized touch content. Applications would view better horizontal if the controls were put on one side - but then you have the issue of controls only being accessible to one hand because the screen is wide.
