Hi everybody

I know this may be forbidden or something like that but I've been my whole life interested in hacking, cracking, and that stuff about internet security, but now I wanna really get into that.

I know you may not believe me because there're many people that do this just attempting to "hurt" or about the money, that kind of shit, but I wanna know how to hack because I've read it's the best option to defend yourself.

Now, I wanna know where to start here. I mean, I knew a little about that shit like Tor browser, the people that goes around there...

So, which OS should I use? How do I keep my pc safe in a first place? Where can I get all this info?

I know that kind of things that appear in films like someone using a laptop to crack the system of all United States net or something like that are false, but I really wanted to know how they do that, just for curiosity, and then knowing how to defend myself from that.

Hope someone can give me some information

No you havent. You just played watchdogs or watched some shitty TV show and now you want to hack the world to prove to everyone how cool you are.

I know this is pasta, but iv always wanted to get that off my chest. Thanks OP.

Windows is the only hacker OS because Mac is locked on apple store with hacker apps
>>

Nice work tho

Well I haven't played Watchdogs but thank you anyway.

Listen dude, I'm not a 15 years old kid that cares too much about people's opinion. If you are not gonna help me, okay, that's great tho, but you can keep your prejudices away from me, and I'd say from everybody.

I do like pasta.

Are u sure?

I've read Linux is a shitty OS but it has a lil'bit more programms to do that kind of things.

Also Windows could be annoying tho, that upgrades and errors...
>>
>>53675294
I hope your joking. No one knows who Linux is everyone uses Windows PCs
>>
>>53675300
As I said, "I know Linux is a shitty OS"

Anyway, Windows, as I see it, seems "weak" sometimes, isn't it?
>>
>>53675306
Think of it this way.
Since everyone uses Windows OS
everyone creates viruses for it
therefore people can hack in to it all the time
that's why its a hacker OS
>>
>>53675320
I guess that's why they said Mac "has no virus", (I think know there're a couple but not as much as Windows has)

But the fact is, I wanna know how to defend myself when someone is trying to phising me, for example.

I really think the best way to know how to defend myself is knowing how the other would attack you. It's seems like I wanna hack the world but I don't give a shit. You know, nowadays every time I see, for example, a film or a tv serie using the browser there's a lot of ad that screws me off. The thing about cookies, just the posibility people have to know anything about me because an ad, it pisses me off.

But I got it, windows OS, any version recommended? I'm running a 7 right now,
>>
Disregard the other comments. If you want to become a "hacker", you need to spend A LOT of time learning the dirty and boring basics.

My advice is to do the following to get started:

1) Install a Linux distro. Good options are Fedora or Ubuntu. Dual-boot it with Windows, especially if you're a gamer or need Windows-only software.
2) Learn how to use the terminal - bash is a good start. Get familiar with navigating the file system, working with users, installing and building software, etc.
3) Once that's done, learn how to use the popular command line security and debugging tools. gdb, netcat, tcpdump, etc.
4) Learn how to write simple code. Bash scripts are one option, but for a more powerful language, try Python.

For cracking, you'll need to:

- Learn the basics of assembly: http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~evans/cs216/guides/x86.html
- Go through Lena's tutorials: http://www.tuts4you.com/download.php?list.17
- Get into advanced topics using the lectures on this website: http://opensecuritytraining.info/Training.html

Thanks dude! I'll check it out right now. Is there any website that explain things like that? I mean, any that you'd recommend?

Thanks again!

Honestly, I'm having fun here. I mean, nobody agrees with the other's comments and that's so crazy.

Anyway, I may not use Linux, I'll get info and I'll decide later but not Linux yet. But the other things I think they could be interesting.

I installed once Linux using VirtualBox, just trying to know how it works and that stuff. I didn't like it. But I found a lot of programms about hacking, (I think they're fakes tho). That's why I doubt.

Thanks.

just so you know, pretty much everyone is trolling you, because you sound like a normal 12 years old wannabehacker.

Look into pentesting, its basically legal hacking that companies buy to see if they are protected.
>>
>>53675404

For installing a Linux distro, you basically have two options:

1) Create a new partition on your hard disk and install it alongside Windows - this is called a dual-boot. This might be a bit complicated to do, and makes switching between Linux and Windows take time.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot

2) Create a virtual machine and install Linux on that. This allows you to run Linux alongside Windows. For a beginner, I'd recommend this option.

To learn how to use the terminal i.e. bash, start with these tutorials:

And finally, to learn how to program in Python, start with Codeacademy, then jump to TheNewBoston.

When I was 12 I was interested too in this, but you know, I spent more time paying outta house, but now as I get older I do spend more time here in my pc than in 'real life'. No joking, but I do not give a shit, I keep my life safe tho. The thing is that I've read that nowadays, that cookies stuff that appear in the most of the webpages is dangerous as hell. I wanna be ready to defend myself for that.

And honestly, it'd be fine to help someone to get that too, but I do not think I'm prepared to defend a companie. There're many guys that study their whole life to do that.

I really wish Fedora was my creation :(

Depending on what you want, you could start by learning how to program in order to get familiarized with reverse engineering.

Or maybe network security is more what you want, which means you could start by familiarizing with network and routing protocols.

Either way, go to university and get your bachelors in a computer science related field. That should provide you with a good foundation to specialise in InfoSec.
>>
>>53675621
That's in interesting, thanks guy.

>>53675652
First of all, thanks for answering. Well, I just wanna make my net and my pc safe. And defend it from attacks, for sure. The things is that here are many programms but I do not trust anyone, it's like "nobody will attack you but us, because u let us enter at your pc and info" u know?

How do I know I am "safe"?
>>
>>53675728
you are never safe, windows can have bugs that hasnt been reported yet and attackers could use that
get off the internet if you are so paranoid

>>53675728
>Well, I just wanna make my net and my pc safe.
>How do I know I am "safe"?
Safe is subjective and also depends on external factors. For example, your computer security could be somewhat weak, but the chances of being attacked by a 1337 hacker ninja are slim to none for most people.

If you really want to go the extra miles and learn how to do proper computer security, that would take years to learn all the comouter science and security concepts, and to apply them in a practical way (i.e. get your degree).

For lack of providing you with a better guide, start by learning what this anon shared >>53675621

I dont know, start small. Do proper password managent. Start using a password manager for one, and use two factor authentication wherever possible. Learn what strong passwords and passphrases are. Learn some basic cryptography to familiarise yourself with encryption and hashing functions.
>>
>>53675254
this
truly 1337 people use windows.
>>
>>53675258
>Listen dude, I'm not a 15 years old kid

No you're at the 20's and now you wish to learn how to be a further piece of shit.

>Get a job.
>>
>>53675406
Well you cannot learn to hack when you cannot view any code of the windows network stack.

I would even suggest linux. Not only with you understand sockets and how applications talk to kernel, but exploiting them using your original programs is important.

>Yours truly peecy ((Hacker tag :>))
>>
lots of clearweb hacking forums for skids and newbs like yourself.

lots of random blogs you can read up

desu I just started by screwing around with the filesystem and broke things while coding, just started to learn how to screw with the os, and went from there. Currently working in financials as a security analyst.
>>
>>53676156
> financials as a security analyst.

How fun.
So you work protecting money ("Numbers") that you will never see.

I like how these /g/ lies always relate to security. As if /g/ contains any hackers LOL.
>>
>>53676183
I want to work up to be CISO, honestly it's not that hard at all to get an internship in the field atm as long as you try to learn about it before interviewing, and have some soft skills because you will be interacting with a decent amount of people outside of the security team. I know my company has two positions open for 5-10 years worth of experience that I doubt will be filled any time soon, not enough people.
>>
>>53676203
Also, most companies are only looking for junior standing students, and most require 3.0 minimum but would prefer 3.2/3/4/5+

Other thing to mention is that projects you do on the side do matter, and bring them up during the interview, but don't be that one kid who says "oh man if only the pentagon knew how good of a hacker i was i could break into anything".
