Why must every manufacturer make ram that looks like ass, can't we just have the good old green pcb ram
>>53670417
no.
>>53670417
Speak for yourself
>>53670417
>>53670417
I have Trident X.
And removed the stupid fin.
just wait, we're gunna have M.2 SSDs that look that like too
>>53670469
Looks like foot
>>53670500
Looks like foot
>>53670503
Thats ok
>>53670417
buy valueram them
kingston makes what you want
Ass can look pretty good though sometimes, know what I'm saying?
>>53670627
Thats some nice ass
>>53670627
Wow. All that surface area. Now that's heat dissipation. Looks fucking good too.
>>53670627
I want it
>>53670417
Wanted sedate RAM with good timing. Couldn't find it without huge ass-heatsink that wouldn't fit under the CPU heatsink. So I bought this pimp shit. Same price and actually fit with around 1mm clearance. Everything worked out better than expected, even though I never actually see it in action.
I used to have this, pretty nice looking sticks
I quite like the look of my ram. It doesn't seem too far from functional too
>>53670791
>TACTICAL
>>53670791
>tactical throwing ram for home intrusions
Who cares?
It's not like you can see it after you put the RAM cooler on.
>>53670627
Gorgeous AND functional
>>53670791
Ban tactical ram!
>>53670627
looks like it would block air flow for the cpu fans
>>53670417
Why does it matter what it looks like? You just stick it in a motherboard, and it get stuck in a box. You're a damn stupid ape if you just stare at your RAM.
I paid for the cheapest 16GB of RAM on Black Friday 2013. It was G.Skill Sniper. Do I care about what it looks like? No. It works, it's cheap, it's good.
Pretty much the only traditional looking ram is all server grade stuff. Quite a shame really.
I'm running corsair vengeance pro, was my first "higher end" build, so I got sucked into the aesthetic bullshit. If I was going to build a machine again, it's going to be ugly as shit but with proper grade gear.
>>53670848

Mushkin has some pretty good ram with heatsinks that don't look autistic. Also they're a proud American company.
>not having a god like cooler on your RAM
>>53670417
>Can't we just have the good old green pcb ram
Yeah, if you don't waste your money on CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM ram and just get good ol' G.Skill, Crucial, Kingston, or Mushkin "value" RAM.
Corsair and G.Skill have some plain black PCB RAM as well, if you're still into color-matching your PCBs
>pic related
my ram and i quite like it.
>>53670791
ballistix tactical is literally the most cost effective, normalish profile 1866 9-9-9-27 1.5v DDR3 you can get. Depending on the lot you can take it to 8-7-8-24, 1.65-1.7v at stock speed. Some reviews say it can OC to ~2050-2100 at 9-9-9-27.
shame about the silly name though. it's what I'm buying next for my computer.
>>53672795
pretty good looking
>>53670417
Its functionality the rice you're thinking of is a neatly designed heatsink. DDR4 runs really hot.
This reminds me how much I want to rig an AC radiator to a water cooled tower
>>53673014
Just duct a window AC unit's outflow over to the radiator(s) of a water cooling system. In designing the duct you probably want to model or at the least napkin math the flow and backpressure, so you can create the most efficient pipe which maximizes pressure at the radiator while minimizing load on the AC. After insulating the duct you'd deliver constant 12-15C air, and for kicks you could route the mildly more hot exhaust into the case.
1500w of cooling for a 600w load would keep everything below ambient, but how would we deal with condensation?
>>53673105
Would be pretty funny. I was thinking of using the condenser as a giant radiator. Put a large low-noise fan on and place it where the side panel goes. It's fairly easy to find trashed AC units come summer
>>53670417
The original was better.
>>53670536
those actually need heat spreaders though
>>53670417
>can't we just have the good old green pcb ram
You can. It's right there on ebay. Stop going to newegg for everything. pic related is my ram.
>>53674050
yeah but they can do it without having tacticool ricer RAM style spreaders
>>53670879
Think of the children!
>>53670417
I don't generally look in my case after setting it up, even less so at the branding on the sides of a RAM stick.
>>53670417
kek @ fag overpriced gaymer memory which wont help a shit
pic related my ram sticks almost same
>>53673889
i must agree, that is some sexy ram
>>53670417
>having open window computer CASES
literal pleb
>>53670500
>different colors same specs have different prices
hilarious
>>53670417
to be fair, it makes it much easier to pull them out instead of just gripping the sides
>>53677394
This.
Otherwise, >>>/v/
>>53670417
>can't we just have the good old green pcb ram
Black PCBs Matter!
Honestly, I just think they look sexier.
(I'm totally joking, only faggots would start a flame war over this)
>>53670417
WHO THE FUCK CARES WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE YOU FUCKING RETARD ITS THE INSIDES OF A COMPUTER AS LONG AS IT FUCKING FUNCTIONS FUCK THAT SHIT WHO GIVES A FUCK GODDAMN.
>>53670417
Stfu
look at dem sexy beasts
>>53670417
Why not just pull off the heat spreader then?
>>53672579
>impossible to put two in adjacent slots
what the fuck were they thinking
>>53674262
>op asks for green pcb ram
>posts blue pcb ram
>>53670417
Why do you care? Are you looking inside your computer all day? It's just RAM ffs.
>>53670417
>not wanting gaymer rams
>>53670627
try using a decent tower cooler with that bullshit
I was sad when I had to upgrade away from this guy. Always liked the aesthetics, especially on a blue motherboard.
>>53670417
just dont buy gamer shit.
>>53670469
I HAVE THESE AND THEY SUCK
BEEN IN MY PC FOR 5 YEARS AND THEY'RE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH POST NOW
DONT
BUY
G.SKILL
>>53670417
>buying 'gaymen' ram
Why in the fuck would you ever, ever look at your fucking RAM? Are you all brainwashed, tacky gamer faggots that have case windows? Just install the shit and do something productive with your fucking computer, you god damned losers
>>53670417
>not downloading your ram for free
>>53679073
Mine are working fine after 4 years.
>>53678986

L.O.L.
Get a decent Corsair elite gaming watercooler. Corsair - a quality product you can always rely on.
>>53679034
I've got 2x4GB Fury HyperX DDR3.
Wasn't much more expensive than the regular RAM from some random manufacturer.
>>53679073
>>53679073
rma them. they have a limited lifetime warranty and the support is awesome.
>>53677394
>ddr3-1600
>cas 11
pffft
Crucial makes good ram that doesn't look like a birth defect gone way wrong.
>>53679818
i just took a picture of micron stick, not necessarily 100% same i use
whatever it is, it works and is not any worse than the overpriced gaymer ram stick which looks stupid
>>53672795
I have to, much looks - such beautiful
>>53672795
Couldn't get C14 3000MHz Trident Z 8GB sticks which would have looked gorgeous on a Maximus viii so I just have Ripjaw Vs with close specs.
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
please enlighten me, since i can't for the love of god imagine this: is there even a remote chance for ram to get hot? if so, why? i mean, the clocking unit isn't on the ram itself, the addressing is done from afar and it's rarely randomly accessed during anything performance heavy, so where does the fucking heat supposedly get generated?
>>53670744
but if I buy that I have to buy one of those retarded ram coolers
>>53680974
pretty cool actually
Kingston ValueRAM. I'd buy it even if the heatsinked RAM is cheaper.
it has heatsinks because it just runs hot, they're always at 50c
>>53672795
>two tone heat spreader
>sleek
>black PCB
Sexy. They also have some of the best DDR4 available right now in this config.
