Where can I find information on system fonts for Windows?
I'd like to deviate from the Segoe UI, Tahoma, and Calibri fonts and try something better and more legible.
I've downloaded Avenir Next and Charis SIL along with Gill Sans and Fira Sans.
Avenir Next is really nice looking but none of them really look good as active title bar fonts and icon fonts.
In chrome, what is the difference between Standard font and serif font, sans-serif font, fixed-width font?

Metro UI has no use unless you happen to have a touchscreen monitor.
>>53676043
Sure it does. It's easier to memorize positions on a grid than in a menu.
>>53676043
it's literally the same as start though what do you mean
How does someone unfuck their online identity when someone searches a bunch of stupid shit through unsecured means out of curiosity.
Assuming the botnet claims aren't exactly accurate there is no way using this shit is good anyway.
>Microsoft 10
>Chrome
>Outlook
>Ect.
>>53676074
Why do you even need to memorize a program's position in a grid when you can either right-click on desktop to open up a program or ctrl+r on windows?
>>53676164
Metro UI is designed for touch. If you don't have a touch screen monitor, you're not taking advantage of that, and touch screens are expensive.
>>53676172

Clarify "search" then. If you've been searching FOR them, and feds really decide they want to track down you of all people on their list of rapists, human traffickers and drug sellers, then there's nothing you can really do.
If you've been searching ABOUT them, stop worrying, there's no problem.
>>53667289
How can I kill you?
>>53676252
softly <3
>>53676193
no, thats what full screen start is for. the one in the picture you quoted is functionally the same as windows 95 start?
>>53676272
Metro UI has those big squares exactly for touch. You don't need full screen start to activate touch when you have a touch screen monitor already.
lel
>>53676305
you can make them even bigger or even smaller. these icons have been the same size since vista, were they made for touch? what about the buttons that are that size on a mac dock?
>>53676322
You had to mention macs.
I used a desktop mac with touch screen. It was godly to use and the icons actually felt relevant for once.
>>53676341
ok but you also said you launch programs on windows by right clicking the desktop or using win+r so you're not exactly a user interface genius are you haha
i've used a couple macs with touchscreen made for studio recording and they're very cool
>>53676322
They were made because people wanted more than 32x32, thus 48x48 and up was made.
Not because of touch devices but because CRT screens were already using 2048*1536 resolutions and TFT had UHD back in 2001.
>>53664945
>>53676369
yeah, and the start menu icons were made bigger for the same reasons (if people want bigger icons) ?
>>53676398
Could be.
I usually just want more space.
So having larger icons would just make the resolution jump useless.
>>53667314
Fix your fonts please
>>53676362
I said that because launching from either one is easier than hitting winkey or clicking start and mousing over to the program in Metro UI as it is in the screenshot. Metro UI is useless on a non-touch monitor.
What would be faster than mousing or typing in win+r is simply touching in Metro UI, so a touch screen monitor would be the best way to take advantage of Metro UI.
>>53664945

So I wrote a little dmenu wrapper that, in addition to reading executables from my $PATH, will load up my chrome bookmarks json and read in the bookmarks -- so I can use dmenu to open pages. It also tracks the programs you run and displays them most-recently-used -> least recently. Prob be easy to modify it to do firefox instead.
