They pulled the plug maybe 2-3 years ago since pretty much nobody in their right mind would use it. They fucked over people who didn't want to pay for premium too much. Non-premium download = 10kb/s download speed and probably some waiting in line bullshit and frequent time outs. That shit was unacceptable.

The point is, prohibiting Google is stupid because Google is everywhere, just because it has a tiny sector that competes with yours doesn't mean you should completely ban use of the largest search engine in the world.
The only place where this makes sense are phone manufactures since it's a dumb industry and phones are used as status symbols first and capable devices second, so an Apple employee caught using a Nexus could really hurt the company image.

The HD PVR 1212 used to be the shit and didn't have any competitors besides Dazzle, but they only worked for composite cables.
Somewhere along the lines Elgato and Roxio popped up and Hauppauge didn't lower the price of their HD PVR and they were getting pounded in sales and public relations. They put the nail in their coffin when they released 3 different HD PVRs for game consoles. They just released the HD PVR 60 a few months ago and there's not even one review on Amazon and it's only sold on Best Buy - no reviews there. The Elgato 60 completely destroyed it. Hauppauge is a great example of milking itself to death. They pandered to the YouTube video game crowd so bad and done it with a lot of cringe. Smacking shit like "GAMER" on their products and taking advantage of what was cool a few years ago. I'm glad they ruined their fucking company. I hate the word gamer, especially when a corporation uses it to sell their products.
