At least products like bit defender have literal years of experience and teams that dedicate to it exclusively + they're using sophisticated self learning algorithms to aid in detection.

Sort by protection descending, then choose.
Don't go using the first thing you see on that list.
Any AV based on the idea of finding malware is a lost cause. Something like Comodo is the right choice.
